Terrell Davis rarely played until he started his hall of fame career in the NFL.

For Mizzou it is easily Tony van Zant. Was the #1 recuit out of High School as a RB in 1986 class. Is considered the best high school player in the history of St. Louis. Mizzou signs him and....blows his knee in the Summer American Legion All-Star game. Never is the same after another knee injury, but finishes school. Knee injuries of the type he had then were not the same as today. also seen as part of the decades dark era of Mizzou Football when nothing went right.

For A&M I'd say someone like Reggie McNeal, for Texas I'd say the last 10 recruiting classes or so

Alvin Kamara
Butch Jones was fricking awful.

He was absolutely UNLEASHED at SMU, leading them to a 10-win season in 2019. I've never seen a QB who consistently throws a more perfect deep ball than him. Now he's Mahomes' backup on the Chiefs.
You've never seen a QB who throws a better deep ball than Shane Buechele? Just shut the frick up already

My answer to this would be RG3. Could hit the long pass like nobody’s business.

Including Justin Fields. amirite?
I shed no tears for Justin Fields.
The "should have been" guy for UGA is Albert Hollis. However, it was a severe injury that got him. I didn't know him well, but the few times I interacted with him, I was impressed, and I know others who hold him in high regard personally.

Seeing Anthony Richardson ball out vs. Utah after sitting on the bench for 2 years made me wonder: how many other players had their potential wasted by a coach who didn't recognize their potential?
Sometimes, guys are underwhelming in practice but are performers who just need to be given a chance to shine under the bright lights.
Anthony Richardson had chances last year too.
He got half the snaps against LSU. Completed 52% of his passes for 167 yards with 3TD and 2INT in a loss. Ran for 37 yards.
Also got the start against UGA. Completed 60% of his passes for 82 ayrds with 0 TD and 2 INT in a loss. Ran for 26 yards.
Last year he was good in mop up duty but kind of sucked as the main QB.
While he ran very well against UTah, he still needs to prove himself throwing the ball. Against Utah he only threw for 168 yards with 0 Td and a 129 rating. That's not great.

Omar Conner. He was a highly recruited QB out of Mississippi. Committed to Sylvester Croom and got stuck in that atrocious offense never reaching his full potential of a dual threat.
This.
And I also just got PTSD flashbacks to the Michael Henig at QB days. Kid did play his heart out but he had no business as a SEC QB which is why he stayed injured

Kyler Murray under Sumlin
Judging by his contract clause, he might have never given himself a chance while at A&M. Possibly too much playstation while at college station
