Judged by facebook likes or something, I didn't look that hard, I just wanted to start the discussion.

Which college teams have the most sidewalk alumni

The following percentages are the percentages of fans that are alums

THESE ARE THE PERCENTAGES OF FANS THAT ARE ALUMNI, NOT THE SIDEWALKERS

quote:

Georgia 7%
Florida 8%
Alabama 8%
Kentucky 9%
Arky 9%
LSU 9%
Vandy 10%
Mizzou 11%
Tenn. 11%
SC 15%
Ole Miss 19%
AU 20%
MSU 35%
aTm 57% (which was the highest out of the Power 5)

Sorry if Germans, I looked and didn't see anything.

Click on the link. OP did a poor job of explaining the poll.

Agree. I would say State has a very low number of sidewalkers.

I do too.
I'd have thought it would be higher.

tried to add some clarity to the OP.

The percentage represents the percentage of alumni, not sidewalkers

There is literally no way on Earth that there are more UGA fans that are non-alums than Bama fans that are non-alums.

Seriously? Georgia is a much larger state and most sidewalkers are going to choose Georgia over G tech.

I don't know. The population of Georgia is at 10.1 million, while the Alabama population is only 4.8 million. Consider those numbers and it makes more sense.

UGA and UF are the flagship schools in well populated states. Bama is the most successful team in the SEC, leading to more sidewalk fans. Makes sense. IDK what the frick is going on with TAMU though. 57%? That's surprising.

I think a lot of the sidewalk alumni thing has to do with how hard the school is to get into.

For example, Vandy seemed high, but then I realized that even within the fan base a lot of people might not get into Vandy.

I think the same is true with UGA and Bama, UGA is a tougher school right, so in theory a higher percentage of sidewalkers?

the winners of the contest were ND and UNC, two very good academic schools which = a ton of sidewalk fans.

the raging dumbasses from schools like OSU and Bama are just smart enough to actually attend the school, and therefore swing the numbers down.

Yeah. Can we get the same analysis, but with MySpace? Get with the times, OP.

The sidewalkers are UT fans. Also, they have a lot more schools to choose from in that state.

Hence why we are suspicious about sidewalkers.
