I think Saban is behind Cholly Mac at LSU and the Bear.

The Bear is ahead Claiborne at UK.

Holtz behind JFB

Saban is behind Miles for LSU. Cholly Mac never won a NC so Miles trumps him.

Nick Saban and Frank Thomas are currently tied for second IMO.

I think the Florida, UT, Carolina, AU, and Ole Miss ones would be hard to figure out.

Richt is right behind Dooley. He will continue to be so until he gets a National Title.

So he'll always be behind Dooley?

AU is pretty simple.

1. Shug Jordan
2. Pat Dye

After that there is a gap then Tuberville and Donahue.

Then Terry Bowden I would guess.

AU has only had 6 HCs in the past 63 years.

Was it Brewer or Sloane that almost got Ole Miss shut down?

I know Pell and Hall did their best to get Florida banished.

Why I listed AU as hard because of Dye. Was he best or was it Jordan. You make case for both.

That would be Billy "Birddog" Brewer. Still the ultimate OM coach. No one else represented OM the way Brewer did.

I agree with Holtz behind Broyles at Arkansas, although some might argue the Hatfield deserves the second spot

I'd say Tennessee is easily Fulmer.

1. Neyland
2. Fulmer
3. Johnny Majors

4 is a contested one

Do not sass me regarding the football history at the University of Georgia. I know all about Wally Butts and what his record is juxtaposed to Mark Richt and Vince Dooley. Wally Butts overall record was 140-86-9 during the span from '39-'60 (22 seasons). I will grant that Mark Richt has more games in his seasons now than Butts did, but Richt has only been at UGA for 13 season currently and already has a record of 118-40 against much stiffer competition. (in my estimation) So, yes Butts was a great coach, but currently, Richt is the 2nd best coach in school history. A national title, would get him to the same air as Dooley; 2 would surpass him.
