Running game is a little weaker. Losing Prosch and Mason hurt. Passing game is a little better with monster WRs, though.
If I had to pick, I prefer having a stronger running game, but at least defense seems improved. We'll see how the season plays out.

I'm basing it off of auburn not looking good. Ksu should've won that game easily. They beat themselves. Yall didn't beat them.
And lsu is in the same category as tech and San jose state. And Arkansas?

Offense can be stopped easily and defense is sub par.... Sorry for stating facts. And also sorry you can't handle it bud

Well which MSU team will show up? The one that blew A&M out, or the one that gave up 34 to UAB?

Auburn's O numbers are actually up a little after five games, as compared to last year at this point. The O is far more balanced this year, which is what Gus wanted. The D is vastly improved. StatTiger, who most Auburn fans know, posted this the other day.....
That shows how much our D has improved.

Last season thru 5 gms, AU gained -3.9% yardage than opp. This year they are gaining +69.2% more. That is "team" success.
That shows how much our D has improved.

I don't think comparing where we are now to where we were at the same time last season is a good comparison. We obviously were still finding our identity earlier on. Still could get better but I'd expect our offense to be way better now than this time last season.

That wasn't a comparison of offenses. It was a comparison of the defenses really. Offense is up over last years production through 5 games, but not as much as you probably are expecting.

The O is just different. Last year was a perfect storm. I don't think you will ever see an SEC O run the ball like our guys did last year. That was insane. I do think we will see the running game improve as the season progresses. We haven't seen a lot of the jet sweeps..........yet. Those will help open the inside runs. The running game just won't get to last years heights again, IMO. It doesn't need to though. We have as good a WR corps as any in the SEC. They need to be utilized also.

I think this is the third time this has been asked. I already said I don't know. This thread isn't about them. It's about Auburn. Go start your own thread.

I don't disagree with the second part, but we still had to replace some pieces on offense and we've been working those out the first five games. I think the Prosch replacement is the biggest one. Finding someone on our team that can replacate what he brought to the team last year has been difficult. It's basically Fulse and Uzomah that we're trying to put in that spot and they just haven't been as good as Prosch was as getting blocks in the second level, which sprung Mason for big runs.
CAP has more yardage than Mason did through the first 5 games, fwiw. He probably won't finish with as much as Mason did, but being 14th in the country and averaging 268 ypg through 5 games after losing Mason, Robinson and Prosch is pretty damn good.

I already provided an answer to cut the thread short and I expect it to be cut dammit.

no SEC team had ever lead the country in rushing. so yeah, going to be tough to reach those levels again. that said, if anyone can do Gus will figure out a way. prob not this year though.
