In the past 12 years the lowest Tx recruiting class was 25th. Had one at 17 and the rest were 15th or higher. Recruiting has never been their problem, its culture and booster interference.
I think prior to that was as good but didn’t want to dig deeper.

Next time just admit from the start you were reading a Dawg Nation post about Jimbo. We’ll believe that.
You mean, you actually can read? DawgNation is a sports arm of the AJC, not a separate entity, fyi.

You mean after he took them to their best seasons ever? Its South Carolina, there is a notable ceiling there.

I don't give a shite if he's .500 against whatever teams if he can sprinkle in some title runs. Dude wins wherever he goes and would kill it at Texas.

All of those losses were to team who finished ranked. Only the Bama games weren't close. And 3 were during Urban's zombie year.
2005: Bama and LSU finished top 10, both on the road
2006: Auburn finished top 10, on the road (and a week after we played LSU)
2007: Auburn finished top 20, LSU won the natty
2008: Ole Miss finished top 15
2009: Bama won the natty
2010: Bama finished top 10, so did LSU, Moo St finished top 15.

2 titles at UF, a title at OSU.
Teams would kill for him to take over their HC spot.
A school like USC or Texas would be immediate contenders.
Dude lost 9 games in 7 yrs at OSU. As much as I hated the "chest pains" bs, the man wins wherever he goes

Herring’s still flipping, but houses now, and Byrum’s probably still gator chomping. Can’t wait to play Florida more often.

The ceiling is a national title, we just havent reached that yet. If spurrier showed us anything its that it is possible. 3 11 win seasons in a row, and that was without him caring about recruiting much. Had he been 20 years younger and given a shite we could have done it.
That said, it isnt easy especially now with UGA and Clemson, but its possible

Something you’ll need to get accustomed with: you can have a top 15 recruiting class nationally and still be 8th or 9th in the SEC.
ETA: a top 3 class can land you solidly 3rd in the SEC.

2009 BCS title game broke Mack Brown's brain so badly that he tanked the program by moving away from the offense that Texas talent is well suited for.
A&M went to the SEC in 2012 and Texas was no longer the defacto top choice for instate talent. Representing the state in the big boy SEC was an effective sell for the Aggies.
Longhorn Network buried 1 or 2 games per year while A&M was playing Alabama on CBS and Manziel won a Heisman.
We hired Charlie Strong.
Pretty much a perfect storm for the decade of despair that was the 2010s.
Probably the most honest thing you have ever said on this site.

Dude you have no idea what you are in for. Unless you drastically change your program identity the Longhorns will be hanging at the bottom of the SEC standings for a decade!
And pining for a washed up CUM….Dear Lord you are pathetic! That PoS ship has sailed!
