That oversimplification is why a lot of these guys feel the need to hide their symptoms. Telling some of these mentally ill people to be like everyone else is the same as telling people with extreme heart issues to do better.

Taylor screwed up. Saban is known for giving second chances to young men who've fouled up, and he's explicitly given his reasons why. You are welcome to look them up, but I know it won't fit your ridiculous argument, which is the most important thing.

Gilbert, on the other hand, has messed up, and has CONTINUED to drag all of this out for himself, his coaches, his teammates, and his university. Apparently not just LSU, but other schools as well.

Sure, sure.

We'll all pretend Alabama doesn't want a freak of nature tight end who has had a few personal issues.

The same Alabama who has brushed criminal issues aside for talented players.

Source? User NitroExpress says so.

The dude tried to transfer to another school and apparently wasn't academically eligible to do so.

But Alabama will take a player who assaulted his girlfriend over someone like that.

There's no need to repeat myself. The argument has run it's course.

Like I said before, you know you're wrong. You know BAMA has shown him zero interest, and you know that's deliberate. TE has been a position of need for Alabama. If Saban wanted this clown, you'd be hearing about it, but he doesn't. Period.

He's Ogre and LSU's problem. Frankly, I think the three are made for each other.

Lsu just told me he was the best TE in the SEC just last week. Guess they changed their minds.

I'd agree, you've contradicted your points by saying Saban will take players with criminal issues but not a kid who just wanted to transfer.

Well apparently he isn't academically eligible to transfer so there's really no reason for Alabama to show interest.

Doesn't mean Alabama wouldn't take him if he was.

Spoiler alert: We both know they would. In a heartbeat.

He also failed the drug test at combine, and has been in trouble with that in the nfl as well. Mysteriously never missed any time at bama for any such offense

Saban is pretty public about his weed smoking policy, isn’t he? He doesn’t really care if guys smoke.

Clearly Saban has dealt with guys like this. Even worse. We all thought it was a crime when he signed that transfer or whatever for UGA.

I’m not saying Saban’s character is better than other coaches.

But I sure as shite think he’d tell Gilbert to kiss his arse.

Also, while we’re on the subject(kinda). For being a dynasty and win at all costs program right now, Saban is recruiting and producing a wildly high character team. Much higher level of character than other successful programs that we’ve seen dominate the sport. And I’d probably argue higher levels of character than most current teams in general.

The dudes coming out of Saban’s program are impressive as hell.

Link?

He has the potential to be but he isn't right now.

His potential is why literally every program in the country would take him IF he was academically eligible.

A&M would not

We have two better TE’s on the roster that are also not mentally ill

It seems like LSU has done just about everything they can to accommodate him. He may be one of those guys who just never pans out due to his own actions or issues.

This is fact, but easily ignored by delusional LSU fans. Alabama apparently takes all the troublemakers and allows them to do whatever the hell they want, go to class if they want, and shite all over the general processes and comraderie of the entire program. That's why Saban wins so many championships.

Aggie posters on your board seem to disagree with you.

The one kid's injury issues seem to be a large part of why they'd want Gilbert.

Didn't Josh Jacobs just get arrested the other day?

And then you have McClain and Foster and I remember Quinnen Williams getting arrested recently.

That's just off the top of my head.

Alabama has lost two 5* players just in the last 3 years with emotional problems. The last I heard both players continue to bounce around and be a mess.

Alabama just lost their tight end and special teams coach, Jay Graham, after only a few months on the job, citing mental illness and the need to seek professional help.

Hard to not believe coach Saban wouldn't take an extremely hard look at what's eating Gilbert if the opportunity presented itself. These coaches know a lot of this is out of their control.

History will show that the flip of Rueben Foster to Auburn will go down as the single-most important event in changing the perception of the little/big brother roles in college football in the state of Alabama. Mainly because of what this manchild beast will do inside Jordan-Hare Stadium and the publicity that has surrounded the flip (press conference, tattoo, etc.). Not to mention the laundry list of fellow defensive recruits that are salivating at a chance to play with this wrecking ball on the field. This guy's magnetism and mentality are no different that Cam's. Both are once in a generation players and we'll have had them in Orange in Blue in a span of four years. I've never seen a time in which truly informed Alabama fans, not the toothleess Wal-Mart Muldykes, have been in such anxiety and agony over the direction of the Auburn Football program. I love every second of it, and they see what's happening and can't do anything about it. When you treat your players as family members and they play for you out of respect and admiration, things like 28-27 happen. When you have players that fear their coach, see rampant gray-shirting, bogus medical departures and wonder if they will have their scholarship the following year, things like a 24-0 complete meltdown implosion against your hated rival happen. It all starts at the top and CGC will go down as a legendary coach in college football history, not just Auburn history, Book It. I tell all of the Bammers without hesitation that CGC will win more national championships at Auburn than Satan will at UTea. If you hook me up to a polygraph while saying it, I would pass because that's how much I believe it to be true. The perception of Auburn Football in-state and on a national level is changing. September 1st is about to open the country's eyes as to what tenacious Auburn football is all about, and I can't wait to watch the look on little dabo's face. These are great times to be an Auburn Tiger. A dynasty is in the making, and if you don't see it, you don't have a clue. War Damn Chizik and War Damn Eagle.
