When you think about it this move by A&M to sit out the Gator Bowl is very smart.

Now the final word you will here about A&M’s 21 season is landing the number 1 recruiting class so the season will end on a positive note. Had A&M played in the bowl game they would have probably lost to Wake and reversed a lot of the positive news they have been getting. A&M would be more effected by opt outs than Wake and Wake would probably be more motivated to win the game. Now A&M and Jimbo does not have to spend the next few months talking about how poorly A&M played in the bowl. Jimbo does not have fans upset with him all offseason. This is a brilliant move by A&M when you think about it. Now the news is all positive all offseason with the added benefit of giving the coaches more time to finish off the recruiting class they already have by landing a few more great players since they won’t have Bowl prep to worry about.
