Will Wade had an immediate consistent upward trajectory and had great commits up to the day he was fired. He took the team to the tournament 3 times, and was only able to coach in the one where they lost to a 1 seed by 8; not completely fair to say he struggled in March.
Outside of the final 4 run outlier, Wade was objectively overall more consistent. It’s not unreasonable to think that if he was still there they’d be at least still upper echelon SEC and capable of a run in the tournament Brady had sooner than later.
But that’s neither here nor there. LSU basketball is back to square 1 like it was pre Brady and pre Wade. They tanked a solid basketball program to go 9-4 in football which is crazy to me.

1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th after his 1st year is about as good as it can get for LSU basketball. They were the best program in the conference over that time.

One of the most fascinating things on tRant is how there is a fraction of the LSU fanbase that constantly shits on Will Wade and then you come to the SEC Rant, where everyone generally tries to talk shite to LSU, and posters from other schools are all complimentary of Wade. That's how you know he's a good coach

The only silver lining is that my wife is happy I'm no longer watching games on Tuesday/Wednesday nights until close to midnight (eastern time).
I grew up as a kid with season tickets to basketball. I have fond memories of the 'Deaf Dome' and the insanity of the crowd, and players like Ricky Blanton, Chris Jackson, Shaq, Vernell Singleton, etc...
And now, it's just blowout after blowout. I think there should be more patience in our world, and I think you should give a coach more time than is usually allotted these days, but seeing some coaches turn their teams around so quickly and LSU getting left behind is just sad. While we had some season-ending injuries this year, we've not seen any incremental improvement during McMahon's tenure.

Nobody really cares about LSU basketball. The better question is when will their football team be elite again?
