When the infamous shootings occurred at Kent State, Saban and Pinkel

were eating lunch together.

Both attended Kent State, and began their careers there. They were acquaintances. The connection is pretty cool.

I spent most of my time occupying various administration buildings... smoking a lot of thai stick... breaking into the ROTC... and bowling. To tell you the truth Brandt, I don't remember most of it.

I can just picture Nicky with long straggly hair down to his shoulders, beard, ratty arse jeans & used Army jacket, sandals, with a joint in his lips & glazed eyes. But assume that since he was a football player at the time, he had a Marine haircut & preppy clothes.

That is actually a pretty cool story. I knew parts of it, and that Pinkel roomed with Jack Lambert when he was there. Didn't know the lunch part though.
