How funny is it that those nerds have a more recent natty than Georgia

About as funny as the fact they have a more recent conference title and major bowl appearance than tennessee. Yikes.

I think you missed the point of my subtle “laugh at Georgia Tech coaches trying to be cool” thread

If you think that is cringe worthy then you haven’t seen the Illinois coaching staff. Straight clowns

Funny picture... Georgia Tech is dangerous football program in a P5 in a metro area. It only takes the right coaching staff to figure out.

Not really. It starts with fan support and they still can't draw a serious fan base.

ehhhhhhhh idk.

The biggest thing everyone will point to is that they have atlanta to recruit from, which obviously is nice. But they are basically just a souped up version of vanderbilt; a lousy program with apatehtic fanbase competing against the big boys that just happen to play in a big city. Furthermore this isn't like the old days, simply being IN atlanta isn't that big a deal considering everyone in the world recruits atlanta. Even if they do recruit BETTER than they have, they are still fighting UGA/AL/AU/CU/etc and will merely get scraps. They play in a tiny antiquated stadium and there are very few hots on campus compared to other schools.

I think the myth of "tech is a sleeping giant" is kind of overblown. They have the city of Atlanta aaaaaand that's about it.

“Downtown” is being used here as a rhetorical catchall, not a geographically specific location. But keep deflecting on the basis of semantics and next time I’ll be sure to ask what people think of with regards to football and Cabbagetown and the Old Fourth and Bankhead and Grant Park and Little 5. Just so my boondock arse is being perfectly clear so as not to offend your sense of place.

Depends on how you define "bad" I guess. It's very small, it feels ancient, there's nothing really cool or special about the physical stadiuim itself, the ONLY thing anything could say is neat or unique about it is the setting, but only the people in the upper decks have that uniqueness available to them, which is seeing some tall buildings in the background. Not to mention you have to refuse double digit amounts of beggars and homeless from your walk to get to it.
