Yes, because they certainly had 30 years of mediocre football after Bear. All they did in those 30 years was win 4 nattys, 5 SEC titles, 8 Western division titles, and have 10 or more wins in 14 of those 30 years.
Maybe you meant 10 years? All Bama did in the decade after Bear was win a single national and two SEC titles. Certainly not up to Bama standards.

Mediocrity has higher standards these days then. Alabama followed up Bryant with four SEC titles and four national titles from 1983-2012.

The fact that Saban hired the pariah Kiffin for OC should be alarming to the thinking Bama fan.....
Did someone in the university's administration do something to deeply anger Saban?

535 and 620 yard performances later...

Yes. We did well against inferior competition this past weekend, also.
But the fact is this man has been a destroyer of once-proud programs on both the college AND professional level.
You have reason to be at least somewhat suspicious of this move.....

This logic has always intrigued me: Because someone is a shitty head coach, that means that they would make an equally shitty coordinator.
It would then stand to reason that if an excellent coordinator lands a head coaching gig and falls flat on his face -- just completely unable to hack it -- he would never be able to go back to coordinating; his time spent as a shitty head coach would have ruined him.
Makes sense to me.

He was fine the last time he was an OC.

Just seems like a very odd choice. It's not as if Saban didn't have other options- and certainly owed no favors.

How the frick did hiring Lane Kiffin destroy an NFL team that was 4-12, 5-11, 4-12, and 2-14 in the four years prior to him taking the job? Hell, at 4-12, Kiffin doubled the Raiders' win total from the year before.

LMFAO. Bernie actually favors Nick. LSU stint will be an afterthought. He will own the SEC longevity record.

Nothing would make me happier.

The Aubsession with Bama continues 24/7. Everyday you can count on Auburn fans starting 4-5 Bama threads, at minimum.
