Jimbo already had to follow a 30 year+ legend in Bowden. Luckily for Fisher, Boddy's career had fallen off towards the end.
If he followed Saban, he would be criticized at every turn. FSU would pay him enough to avoid that headache.

I know Bama did this for coaches after Bear. Will the same thing happen with Nick?
Look at it this way, bro: If Alabama hadn't learned their lesson the last time they tried the 'coaches with ties' thing, Saban would never have been hired in the first place.
That should answer your question for you.

At that point, who was left with ties?
Croom?
Croom?

Bobby Williams gonna make the SEC his bitch.
I would help pay his salary if Bama ever named as the next Bama head coach

the first coach hired after bear bryant wasn't AD was a guy with no ties.

Kirby, Mac, JJones, Riley. Shula looked good with a QB yesterday.
None of the above. Kelly is looking like a possibility.

He will never leave. They will do a Weekend at Bernie's type of thing.

Smart will probably be the first guy after Saban, but the decision makers have seen that this fanbase just won't tolerate anything less than the best. We'll open the checkbook for the best we can get.

Curry had no ties to Bryant. Nor did Franchione, Price, or Shula, for that matter.
Technically, Shula was a Bryant grandson.

When Saban is gone, will Bama restrict themselves to a coach with ties to Saban?

And don't be surprised if Saban is the AD. Smart couldn't be better set up to be successful with his mentor in the office just down the hall.

The first coach was Ray Perkins, NY giants HC and former Bama player under Bryant. Was know as Perk the Jerk. Then came Bill Curry.

And doesn't FL have no state income tax? Not sure about AL, but if they do, more salary is needed from Bama to be the same.

Would rather have Jeremy Pruitt if we are barking up that tree. I like narduzzi at michigan state as well and Kirby smart. Scott frost at oregon is interesting as well.
