How the hell is that relavent to the comparison of LSU and Nebraska?

Nebraska is a traditional power. But, can they continue to compete at an elite level talent wise? That is my point. Personally, I think that Nebraska has seen its better days. That is why I made the Yale reference. They were once a power, but are so no longer.

quote:

That may be true, but he had a prior history with Nebraska. Plus, with them moving to the Big 10, he's back to his roots.

Pelini could very well stay at Nebraska. He was at LSU longer than he was at Nebraska and he won a national championship with us. As time goes on, his role in coaching that team gets larger and larger, especially with his success at Nebraska. If he chooses to stay, more power to him. But, I was asked who I wanted and his name is high on my list. I don't think its ridiculous that a top coach with LSU ties would return to Baton Rouge.

For that matter, you could add the following to the list:

Will Muschamp
Derek Dooley
Jimbo Fisher (staying at FSU, no doubt)

And as I said in other thread T-Bob paid the price over summer practice and and fall camp plus. Missing a game was not going to happen for a fist offense. Had he other things like RP had then it would be different but it was a one time incident.

its a dwi first offense or not you should sit. its not like a mip.

plus tbob isn't good and should never see the field esp at guard. frick he is to small play center so he cant play guard but no leslie loves him so he has to play.

frick the team les loves his favorites.

I got to talk to him about his decision making and what not, although I am probably not suppose to say that on here

if les isn't going to sit a player for a dwi then he should prob stop kicking guys off until they rape or murder someone.

i could understand if tbob was a good player like pp but come on, as a player if i knew i could get away with petty shite off the field even when i make the team worse on it you think im respect a coach.

The thing that bothers me about offensive line, is Les is a former offensive lineman, you would think he would know if a player is faltering and would correct it.

Why do I have a feeling we will be able to start a collage of broken things from HBT this season.

Six seasons in and I have yet to see it. Bertman tried to find someone like Saban at a mid level BCS school with NFL experience and a good coaching pedigree for cheap. He also wanted someone he could boss around. He found that in Miles and we are paying the price for it.

if we somehow lose to state im not sure what my reaction will be if it will be anger or just stunned silence.

you know why les might love tbob so much they are both pretty small linemen

Before last year, LSU always seemed to have good run blocking offensive lines under Miles. LSU has been the only team that's been able to push Bama's D-line around in the last two years running the ball.

ok so bertman wants to be known as the greatest coach in LSU history.

so you let saban walk away, you hire les bc if you hire a good coach lsu wins back to back titles in 06 and 07 and we are still rolling along.

you hire smoke to replace you in baseball he drives baseball into the shitter. clearly you stay as the best coach in baseball history.

he lets brady hang around bc well LSU basketball can't be a threat with him.

pat henry wins all these track titles let him walk away and everyone hates him bc he is at a&M

skip stays as the greatest coach in LSU history

Well, he sure did let some great coaches get away.

I think that it is more likely that Skip is full of himself and wanted "yes men" around him. He butted heads with Saban constantly and their egos were too big to coexist. So, he lets him walk and gets someone that he can push around. I don't think that it was as intentional as you say, but I think that it had more to do with his own arrogance and not wanting to have anyone under him that was bigger than he was on a day-to-day basis. Skip Bertman isn't sharing the stage with anyone.

I know that Alleva has his flaws, but I am more confident that he will be running the next coaching search than I would be if Skip was running it.
