There won't be any, because there is no smoking gun. Ole Miss's problems began with unbelievable recruiting rankings, which MSU never had.

National rankings from 247sports:
2013 Ole Miss 8, MSU 24
2014 Ole Miss 15, MSU 36
2015 Ole Miss 17, MSU 18
2016 Ole Miss 5, MSU 28

8th? 5th??? How does OM rank 8th nationally after a 2-10 0-fer SEC season ('11) followed by a 7-6 season? This just cannot be done without cheating.

But what you have there, that's just what recruiters do.

Not that either one would have taken the job at the time, but Dabo Swinney, Mark Richt, either of those guys would have done even better recruiting.

Both Mississippi schools have tough recruiting situations.

But recruiters are gonna bring in the players no matter what, at least if they have players reasonably close, which both schools have.

You guys seem to think that a school having been to the Rose Bowl FOUR times from 1910-1940 is some kind of sales point. It isn't. Or that a team going 2-10 the year before isn't a sales point of it's own.

If Ole Miss has the information they will turn MSU in, but not until the NCAA is finished.

OLD SCHOOL STORY: Bama helped bring Auburn down with Eric and Twilleta Ramsey. (Note: we were guilty). But they went beyond reporting to setting him up with the tape recorder and what to ask for. Provided a high price attorney.

Auburn retaliated (for the first time) with Gene Jelks and others. Bama went on probation.

i believe both programs have learned from their mistakes and are stronger for it.

Then why did neither do better at their own respective school?

Nutt and his lawyer ... actually they look pretty dumb if you ask me.

How so? Nutt looks smarter now than I ever thought he was when bumbling around on the sideline. And his lawyer- how exactly does he look dumb in the slightest right now?

Well I'd have to go back and review who finished where for those years.

Georgia was perennially a top 10 school I can tell you that. I'm sure Richt finished out of the top ten a couple times when he didn't have the scholarships to sign many.

Clemson (actually Nkemdiche was committed there before signing with Ole Miss). Usually finish 10 to 20 with Swinney (that is his strength), 10 to 30 with other kinds of coaches at that gig.

But you guys didn't bat an eyelash when Jones had a really good haul his first year at Tennessee.

You never bothered to ask how Dabo managed to sign a number of 5 stars out of Florida when Clemson was experiencing 70 to whatever losses in the Orange Bowl.

Heck Spurrier was a crap recruiter, and really his first five or so seasons at USC were crappy, but even he had a top ten year once at South Carolina.

How the heck did Ron Zook sign those guys at Illinois?

Bud, recruiters recruit.

No idea what kind of team he would have, but if Ole Miss hired the Zooker to replace Freeze, he'll outrecruit Mullen. It's what he does. He is a recruiter.

You have these records that you requested with an FOI request.

Then instead of looking at these numbers yourself with a fine tooth comb, you give them to some guy you met who is a MSU fan and is writing a book about how dirty Ole Miss is.

Said guy sees a number he doesn't recognize, claims it wasn't a recruit or university number. So he googles it an finds it is for an escort service.

Kind of haphazard.

Or take Nutt. He was a head guy. Personally I think all the colleges have their own hooker teams and agencies they work with.

But maybe not. But Nutt has been around. Certainly enough that if Freeze were going rogue using hookers for recruiting he would have heard scuttlebutt about it.

Basically what I'm saying is:

1) I'd have all those numbers in a database and I would have someone do reverse lookup for me, and I'd give all of them the once over scan to see if anything interesting popped out.

2) Seems to me that they should have been looking for hookers from the word go. They requested these files (but anyone could do the same for lots of places in the US, not just for this case) for a reason.

But you know this doesn't pass the smell test.

Why was this number left in the numbers supplied to Nutt's Lawyer?

Why did Nutt's lawyer give these numbers to some guy he just met?

And lo and behold he finds a smoking gun, and gets interviews on radio, and is a tailor made lead in pieces for anyone writing articles about this, or doing a TV puff piece.

But Freeze is canned. No severance or buyout. They can hire whoever they want to now.

So what just happened, and why exactly?

That doesn't tell the whole story. Look into recruits MSU did sign like Simmons and a whole lot of questions will arise.

Kind of genius having someone else do your dirty work, imo.

Freeze's reputation ruined, justification for Nutt given his pending defamation suit.

Payback? Ole miss had their hands directly in the last two investigations at Mississippi State. For all of the moaning and crying from Ole Miss fans about Leo Lewis, Ole Miss trotted out Doug Buckles to the NCAA in the investigation when Sherrill was at State. Did any female MSU boosters spend time with an NCAA investigator like Ole Miss did?

And then this tub of goo went on every radio interview that could be secured and kept embellishing stories during the inquiry into Will Redmond.

I think no "payback" is required.

Yeah. Look I have no idea if you are making fun of me or what, but there is a saying "Qui Bono."

That's latin and means "Who profits?" Basically it is supposed to be a question to ask yourself in any situation you don't understand (or a situation you think you understand).

Dunno. But if this is some kind of Ole Miss move to get rid of a coach who is now a liability, cheap. Well you have to count on Nutt's lawyer finding this smoking gun.

Unless everything is going according to plan.

No idea, but this whole think is screwy.

Don't forget Chris Spencer. Chris Spencer(ole miss lineman) told investigators that Sherrill told his stepdad that he would find his stepdad employment. That was it. Just a statement with zero evidence. But that was in the NOA.

And don't forget that State booster's name was drug all through the media. No [redacted] or anything.

Nope, kind of lawyerly and smart at that. Nutt's lawyer gives Robertson the phone records knowing that Robertson is obsessed with OM cheating and would do a thorough job combing through them.

Plus the plot twist gets Mar's name in the news--something every lawyer loves.

And I bet you he still bills Nutt for researching the records.

Cecil Newton admitted that he shopped his son. Just like State paid Leo Lewis, Auburn paid Cam Newton. Anyone who hasn't figured that out yet is willfully ignorant.
