Gus and Bo were the perfect storm. Gus knew offense but not how to coach a QB, Nix needed a QB coach to tame him and his improvisational nature. I don't think Bo was very good at running an offense, his head would have exploded trying to run something like a Mike Leach system.

I think you'll see when he barely cracks 60% completions and throws 12 TDs all season that it's more of a Bo Nix problem than an AU or Oregon problem.
That is if he can beat out the QBs they already have on the roster...

We'll know it's just an Auburn problem
The dude was coached by Gus Malzahn for 2 years. Even though Mike Bobo is an upgrade in terms of QB development, he still had to run the plays that were called…and Mike Bobo has never been known for good play-calling.
Bo Nix will absolutely have a better supporting cast (WR, OL) and play a weaker schedule, too.
Gus’ recruiting lead to the poor OL and lackluster WR. He was kept at Auburn too long and it put Auburn behind the 8 ball.

Entitlement without merit was his biggest problem. He needs to put in the work and prove himself to be able to take coaching and read Defenses better.. this
: I could see him as a Y receiver or H back,, maybe..
But as a qb? Uhh..uhhhh!
Eh, I think this is only half right. I think he's incredibly ambitious, perhaps to a fault. Even Pat said something indicating Bo is driven to succeed individually rather than a team-first guy. I don't think he's the typical "me first" player, though. It's not vanity and he's not uncoachable.
I also don't think it's for lack of effort or work. By all accounts he puts in the work. There are a lot of rumblings he doesn't do the other side of the equation - the team building part - but I've never heard his work ethic questioned.

I expect Nix will do better at Oregon because he will be facing PAC 12 defenses. He did improve some this year under Harsin but I just don't think he's an elite quarterback. He's good but not elite.

That's why he was reclassified as a 3*
Auburn didn't do him any favors with Gus and 3 OCs in 3 years and with our OL and WRs. So he will probably be better in that setting. He's also playing for the OC from his freshman year, which may help.
I think he's solid, but certainly not the 5* he was given out of high school. I think we will miss the experience, but I won't miss the drama.

Give Nix a solid oline, good & dependable WR's with weaker defenses to go against in the Pac and I think he'll do really well.

Oregon has a guy named Ty Thompson. I guarantee you Bo Nix won’t even be the starter there.

Love Bo Bo Nix ! He will THRIVE as a Duck . Auburn offense was not a fit for him . Dude can spin it and with the right offense , he can put up some numbers . Pac 12 defenses are differnt than SEC too. Much faster in PAc 12 on cover but not as physical as SEC .Good move Bo Bo!!!!!
