Tennessee 2010 and it's not close
I was coming in to say this. Definitely a wtf moment. When that snap went past Jefferson, I was so fricking pissed that I went outside my friend's apartment to smoke a cig. I came back in and all my friends were laughing and I looked at the screen and it said LSU 16 Tennessee 14 and the words "what the frick" definitely came out of my mouth. No other way to describe it.

I was in the student section, it was as bananas and weird a scene as i've ever seen in that stadium. Just went back to the tailgate and laughed our asses off.

State
'99 at Auburn
Have no idea how we won that game. Was down 16 with 2:30 to go.

2000 vs. UGA. At the time, we were a win against New Mexico State removed from a 21-game losing streak, while UGA had a Heisman candidate at QB (or so they thought). I don't think anybody thought we'd beat the Dawgs that day.
Ole' Quincy Carter was flying high during that one. Damn, that was embarrassing.

quote:Yep. That was the game where the headline for the Saturday sports section of the Mobile Register was 'Tide could lose, pigs could fly'. LSU was 3-5, and Alabama was riding a 31-game unbeaten streak. Instead of a blowout win for the Tide at home, after a scoreless first half, LSU goes on to win 17-13 proving just how much potential was wasting away under Curley Hallman.
I don't know how you look past 1993 at Alabama.

Pretty sure we've never had one of those. Mizzou is exclusively on the "WTF loss" side of things.

I told my boss to bet the mortgage that UGA covers that game (21 spread).
5 interceptions by Quincy Carter later, that was probably my most frustrating loss. 5 punts instead of picks and we win.

1989 PennSt. If Joe Paterno calls a run play, no way does Bama stop Blair Thomas from getting TD

I remember a game against Florida where yall got to 42 points before even having 100 yards of offense. That's pretty wtf

We had so many of those when Les Miles was the coach that I wouldn't know where to start.

I want to say Tennessee had similar shenanigans to lose their bowl game that very same year as well. Lol, poor blokes

For me it was Auburn taking down Kentucky in the Elite 8 to punch their ticket to the Final Four....
Auburn????? In the Final Four?
Even almost 1 year later it still is hard for me to believe

2014
A&M 41
#3 Aub 38
If I remember right, Auburn was 23 point favorites. A&M was coming off a 21-16 home win over Texas St and Kyle Allen starting his first road game as a true freshman.
Got a blocked kick return for TD, Auburn fumbled at the goal line, and also botched a snap in the final seconds for A&M to escape with the win.
Really unbelieveable game at the time. Turns out Auburn wasn't all that great either.

They changed the rules to football after the North Carolina game. We ended 2 regulation games as winners and went on to lose both lol. Derek Fvcking Dooley.

That was the game I was going to say...not necessarily that Mizzou won, because Florida wasn't great, but how they won was just bizarre. I mean, just look at this beautiful (ugly?) boxscore...119 yards of total offense and at one point were up 42-0 in the 3rd quarter, completed 6 passes for 20 yards

Box Score

Honestly, the Gator Bowl vs. Indiana.

1986 sweet sixteen win over Georgia tech!
Grades, discipline, injury, and chicken pox decimated a mediocre tiger team. Georgia tech had six future nba players and had 6’11” John Salley matched against 6’6” Ricky Blanton at center.
After beating Georgia tech, beating Kentucky to reach the final four was not a shock.
