The Camback. The most bizarre loss I can recall.

Before the game, I figured it'd be close. And it was.

It just didn't develop that way, at first.

Don't remember the polls but I think we might have robbed them of the NCG experience.

I'd say getting blown out by clemson is up there too. Bama was too good that year to look that bad.

2001 SECCG vs LSU. What could have been. We had a monster team that could’ve competed with Miami.

The backup QB curse began.

Every loss by Les Miles because of clock mismanagement.

So many choose from, but I go with 6 of the 7 1998 losses. That team was I believe preseason #6 and the SEC favorite. Started out 3-0, then lost 7 of the next 8 games in excruciating fashion, primarily bc of our idiot Big Ten defensive coordinator. By the 7th loss, the team had mailed it in.

Alabama should have been up 35 or 42-7 at halftime.

Alabama scored TDs on their first three drives, with Auburn going 3-out on their two possessions between. Ingram has that 40 yard catch and run where the ball is punched out and it rolls 30+ yards out of the endzone. The next Bama drive Trent Richardson drops a wide open TD pass in the endzone and Bama ends up settling for a FG. Game should probably be 35-0 there. Auburn scored a TD on the next drive and on Alabama's next drive McElroy is strip sacked on 2nd and goal, the ball is on the ground for seemingly forever and I don't remember which player for Bama it was but the ball was at his feet and he's just standing there looking at McElroy laying on the ground....of course someone from Auburn eventually figures out there is a loose ball and jumps on it

2013 is a close second. After 3 missed FGs Bama faces a 4th and 1 and decides to go for it instead of try another kick. Auburn has everybody and their mother on the LOS and Alabama still tries to run it up the middle. Ray Charles knew that play wouldn't work when the teams lined up prior to the snap. :banghead:

2018 Arky loss to North Texas. It was the only time I have ever got my son excited about football and willing to go to a game. Pathetic game. Miserably hot. Bad lunch. Ruined football for my son. He has never shown interest since.

Wasn't the 2010 Auburn comeback started by Mark Ingram's fumble? I remember it being the only one of his career of something. But yeah it felt like it should've been much worse than 24-0 before that, yalls offense looked unstoppable

Kevin Butler nails a 60 yard FG with seconds left and Georgia beats Clemson.

Miss the Georgia games. Although they have got the best of us most times the two schools need to play every year.

You could see something was wrong with the team. Chad in his first year already lost the team. No way in hell would they lose to North Texas if they were as focused as they were against Ole Miss in the same year.

That was the first bad thing that happened, but his first fumble was actually got Tennessee back in the Rocky Block game. He fumbled on first down after a gain of 5 with just under 3:30 left. Even if Bama doesn't get another first down on that drive Tennessee likely gets the ball pinned deep in their own territory down 12-3 with about 2 minutes left.

The one bright side to the Iron Bowl is if Auburn loses that you likely have Oregon/TCU for the BCSNC game, and Because the sec streak ends at 4 straight titles Alabama doesn't get the rematch with LSU

For State these are two that come to mind:

1984 - State-Bama game in Jackson. Neither team was very good. However we were leading 20-17 very late in the 4th quarter. Bama throws a bomb, our defender is in perfect position, deflects the pass but as he is falling down the ball happens to drop in the Bama WR’s hands and he walks into the end zone. We lose 24-20. I was like really. Makes a great play and luck falls Bama’s way.

2014-State - Bama game. They punched us in the mouth the first quarter or so. Then we outplayed them the rest of way but a 19 point lead was too much to overcome. I am still convinced that had we beat Bama we would have also beat Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.

Plenty of options...

I'll go with 2013 Tennessee.

Wasn't alive for the 1984 season, but I imagine most Gamecock fans who witnessed the Navy game that year will say that one.

True.

Always odd how Georgia manages to beat Auburn even when Auburn has a better team. Reminds me of the frustration we have had against Florida in the past.

Bama - 2012 (Ripped my hat in half), 2014 (Anthony Jennings)
Florida - 2016 (Literally one yard away. Helluva game tho.)
Auburn - 2016 (The happiest I've ever been after a "win", then I threw a chair across my backyard when they over turned the TD.)
