I don't recall a thoughtful, useful take from either of them on any topic. Ever.
I say this about posters a lot jokingly, but I really mean it when I say that they are the two worst posters on the Rant. Without question.

UGA is never going to out recruit basketball blue bloods for the blue blood talent in atlanta.
Did I somehow misquote?
Obviously Pearl built his program recruiting blue chip kids from Atlanta without blue blood pedigree.
ETA I meant to say Pearl and Auburn not Crean

Crean outrecruited Pearl to some extent if Pearl is having to get transfers from Georgia.
I never said that another program cant get good talent.
I said that UGA isnt going to outrecruit kentucky, UNC, Duke, Kansas, etc.. ever.

Auburn built a final four team last year with Atlanta kids and perhaps another one this year.
Pearl is obviously turning them into a consistent power because of his proximity to Atlanta but UGA can't duplicate
to some extent?
Sorry,don't see why we can't.
Of course the national powers can cherry pick but there's a ton of great players in the area and only so many scholarships.

Do what? Beyond laughable
Pearl outrecruited Crean for all of these kids and Crean couldn't even get his
foot in the door with Cooper.
Of course Pearl is gonna go after a player like KD Johnson.Who wouldn't? He was freshman All SEC who averaged 13 ppg
Auburn 2020 commits.Two 4 stars,One 5 star from metro Atl

I think Mike White is a good hire. He dealt with some injuries at Florida which impacted the results, but there’s no question he can recruit and develop talent.

Ummm. Ok.
I mentioned UGA recruiting. Not Auburn.

Which is why we can both be right.
Auburn signed the 10th best class in 2020 (behind Kentucky, UNC, Duke, and Gonzaga). Hell... UGA was only 7 spots behind Pearl and Auburn.
There is talent to recruit well. But the blue bloods are going to get 1st dibs in ATL the majority of the time.
Pearl is a great coach. Better than any coach in the history of UGA basketball (including tubby in my opinion). Im not shocked he is recruiting top 10 in the country. Im not shocked he is signing big names in ATL. He isnt outrecruiting blue bloods. And he sure isnt coming to UGA.

Donovan spoiled Florida into a false sense of superiority. Winning an NCAA title in basketball is twice as hard as football. Too much parody. Happy with the hire. frick Florida.

Les actually won at LSU. Mike White has underachieved all but one season he was at UF

I mean I don’t think asking for sweet 16 appearances, competing for Confrence titles, and establishing consistent recruiting is a major ask. We were spoiled by Billy D but that’s where the bar is now set. The program has fallen off and the common denominator is Mike White. Can he be successful at UGA? Of course…but the reality is he was on cracking Ice here

I'm not laughing at UGA and I think it would be a good hire for UGA 5 years ago
But in an SEC arms race I'm not it makes much sense. If the idea is that UGA needs some solid basketball stewardship I get that, but I'm not sure how much upside the hire has beyond that. And I think UGA is a place, much like Auburn, where radical basketball transformation should be the goal.
