How exactly do you know this? And why do you say Kentucky was given the title, if you don't think UT's title is legit?
Tennessee is recognized by the NCAA as winning in 1951 and 1998 only. Period. Whether They recognize Oklahoma or Kentucky martters not to me for the 10th time.

we were 7-4 in 2001 in Eli's soph year and didnt get a bowl invite. Bama, who we beat, got the Indy bid over us. Still chaps my arse bc we had a solid team that year. Barely lost to Aub and whooped LSU in DV.
Eli had a great game that night as the Tigers committed several turnovers as I recall. Saban and Jimbo decided to turn Davey and Reed loose after that game and the rest is history. I agree that OM team was bowl-worthy.

recognized by the NCAA

Ark getting to the Sugar over Bama....tOSU was lucky they got to end the steak against a light weight
Next year, try not to lose 3 SEC games...then you won't have to worry about coming in at fourth place.

Yeah, I remember that. Theoretically, Ole Miss was in a 3-way tie with Bama and Arkansas. All 3 teams had 4-4 SEC records, Ole Miss beat Bama, Arkansas beat OM, and Bama beat Arkansas. Don't know what the secondary tiebreaker was, but OM lost out.
However, Bama was 6-5 (lost to ranked UCLA), Ole Miss was 7-4, and as you said, Ole Miss beat Bama head-to-head, so no matter what theoretical tiebreaker, OM should have gone before Bama.

I think what got OM that year was that OM had played in the Independence Bowl in 98 and 99. They (Independence Bowl) had the last pick that year and Bama was available. Bama had never been to Shreveport at that point and has a bigger fan base.

Should have been a one seed, but received by far the worst 2 seed instead.
haha who the frick do you think shouldn't have been a 1 seed then? that was like the easiest year ever as far as picking the 1s.

I don't remember a "snub" from the tourney but that 8th seed 2 seasons ago as SEC champs was fricking criminal...shown by giving Carolina it's toughest tourney game by far

im not sure if youre just saying that cause of my name, but you're high. it wasn't even close.
ETA: it may have been close before the conference tourneys, but it was pretty clear afterwards.

I'd say Aubie has a legitimate beef about the year they went undefeated and got snubbed.
Other than that, I don't like the fact that Bama got nailed for Logan Young "buying" Means when Cam Newton was being "shopped" around. Circumstances are too similiar. It also bothers me that other teams were SHOPPING also and were not reprimanded or penalized. That goes for Means and for Cam.

Tell me,Toots, what the hell does that have to do with the NCAA selection committee not picking Alabama one year in particular ?
