I'm not sure if this is a snub, I think it was more with the rules of the time but in 1970 our basketball team was 25-3 (14-0 in ACC play) lost in the conference title game and didn't get in. Also couldn't get into the NIT because we were hosting it or something so we had that record and no post-season play.

I'm not sure about snubbed in terms of being left out, but we got screwed in 2007-2008. Should have been a one seed, but received by far the worst 2 seed instead.

Yep,lost the ACC tourney final to NC State. Only one team could represent a conference until 1975.

Yep, NCAA didn't care for the NIT and if you were hosting a regional on your home court,no NIT for you, either. This cost Vanderbilt an NIT bid in 1973 and Alabama one in 1974.

In football,

we were 7-4 in 2001 in Eli's soph year and didnt get a bowl invite. Bama, who we beat, got the Indy bid over us. Still chaps my arse bc we had a solid team that year. Barely lost to Aub and whooped LSU in DV.

2003 was pretty tough snub for UT.

1950, when they gave Bear Bryant's kentucky team a national championship despite having the same number of losses and being shut out by tennessee

Football-1939: Won the national championship in 1938 (although not AP), and started 1939 unranked. Vols shutout every opponent and finished the regular season 10-0. Ranked 2nd in the final poll.

Basketball-May well be some bad snubs, but as I mentioned in my previous post, the seed we received in 2007-2008 was a joke.

In football,

Until this thread, I had no idea anyone ever referred to "the NCAA's" as football. Learn something new everyday.

No one gave them the national championship, unless you count the Sagarin ratings which came out 30 years later.

1950 national champs=Sooners and Vols

LSU getting an 8 seed after going 13-3?? in the SEC was absurd. And then almost beating the team of the millenium in the 2nd round.

But you think Kentucky was?

OU won Coaches/AP titles. A majority of selectors chose the Vols. At the time, Tennessee and OU were considered to be national champs. Kentucky certainly wasn't.

I dont care who was. The fact of the matter is we are not considered the champion.

2 years ago we were the first SEC team to ever win 10 conference games an not make the NCAAs. I think we actually had 12 conference wins too.

Disagree. It wasn't quite like the present when only two polls matter.

And if you don't think Kentucky was recognized, but not Tennessee?

Either way, no way that 'snub' was as bad as 1939.

How many times do I have to tell you that I dont care who was. I know that we are not. BTW, didnt we lost the bowl game in 1939?

You realize when the AP poll came out in 1939?

How exactly do you know this? And why do you say Kentucky was given the title, if you don't think UT's title is legit?
