Until Kelly proves he can win an opener and beat Alabama, I'm counting those as 2 losses right there. Throw in another loss we should've won, and it's 9-3.

The team has plenty enough talent, the question is coaching.

I think everyone understands we have one of, if not THE most talented roster in the league but most of us are really down on Kelly and are expecting a loss to open at Clemson because that what he does loses openers. Cautiously optimistic because of the roster, with apathy towards Kelly is what I’d say

I'm sandbagging until I see them in week 1. The team SHOULD be good, but LSU under Kelly is really good at not being ready for week one. I can still remember the first FSU game, it looked like half of the team had never seen a football, so my expectations are tempered.

I ain’t saying shite. If we win our first season opener since Trumps first term, I will formulate an opinion.

I like this outlook- think I will follow the same.

Either we will have bought some success or do our part protesting NIL

10-2? If the O-Line is above average this team will be 11-1 and going to playoffs.

I don't have confidence in Kelly at all. He's won, one big game and that was his first season vs Bama. He wasted an all world qb in Jayden. His pompous arse had to get rid of our current DC and DB coach only to go crawling back to them. I think he's a mediocre SEC coach.

Do I hope I'm wrong ? Sure, but losing to a bad USC team last season doesn't give me much confidence. He makes way too many excuses.

It’s now or never. Having a bunch of mercenary talent in the NIL era isn’t the same as building a team from highschool kids that are forged by the heat of multi years of competition together. You can composite all teams and pretty much come to the same conclusion. Regardless of the talent numbers, the sense of cohesion is down and the product on the field is also down. That’s where the most parity is coming from. We’ll see what happens.

Lose game 1 as per usual then argue in the rant about Kelly’s buyout for the rest of the season

Are we really pretending Nussmeier is some proven top end QB?

I’ll just be relieved to win the season opener and go forward from there

As an outside observer, I thought the reason why Brian Kelly has had so much leash is because he did beat Bama.

64% completion pct last season, 29 tds, 12 interceptions, plus the fumbles. A turnover machine

Once, and was dominated last season (judge me by my 3rd season he said) to the first year Alabama coach that sucked according to LSU fans

Deboer is a clown that sucks by everyone’s standards, including Bama’s

LSU is still playing baseball, unlike some others around here. We worry about football after baseball is over

There is a strong recent history of QBs at LSU making a big leap from their first year as a starter to their second (Met, Burrow, JD), and if you actually watch the games you see Nuss has a lot of talent.

it’s more withholding judgment until after Clemson

Not gonna lie, you got me there. I didn't watch that much LSU last year outside of highlights. There probably is a reason that he is a projected high draft pick.

Thinking that the media dorks at Media Days will pick LSU to finish second in the league, which means that LSU would be picked to make the SECCG.

LSU has a first-round quarterback who is returning, and LSU also won the portal.

I chuckled. Upvote forthwith.

Purely subjective, my friend. From where I'm sitting, Nussmeier ain't all that. He has done absolutely nothing to elevate the offense to win games in the biggest moments. No one gets to Atlanta without that trait. LSU's offense philosophy is to dink and dunk down the field, so stats will come to LSU QBs like they came to Will Rogers in the Pirates system. So what?

Winning portals can simply mean you didn't win the recruiting cycle. The truth here is that Brian Kelly has not struck the same gold that Les Miles used to haul in regularly from the high school ranks.
