Tennessee had James Stewart, Charlie Garner and Aaron Hayden way back in the early 90's at the same time for a couple of years.

SEC? McFadden & Co.
At least until Ingram, Richardson, and Lacy take over that spot.

Weren't Bo Jackson and Brent Fullwood @ Auburn for a couple years together?

Back to the post subject.
Auburn backs, Joe Cribbs, William Andrews, and James Brooks, would have to get some votes.

Three year(1984-1986)...Jackson ran for 4303 yards and Fullwood ran for 2789 yards.

My favorite duo was Bo and Lionel James.

the only (and only) reason for this is the wildcat nonsense. McFadden wouldn't have all those yards from handoffs.

I know it's not the SEC, but UT had Ricky Williams and Priest Holems on the same team.
In the SEC, Kevin Faulk, Ceicel Collins and Rondell Mealy was pretty damn good.

Had over 1000 yards his freshman year with "handoffs"...he didn't play the first few games either

There is very little difference between getting a hand off and taking the snap but maybe one yard.

umm, how about the extra BLOCKER in the formation?
unbelievable.
plus, a one yard drop, knowing exactly where you are going, and being able to freeze the defense by faking a pass, etc, is not traditional running back critera.

The "Dalton/James Gang" with Dalton Hilliard and Gary James was the best 1-2 tandem @ LSU. These two were rotated perfectly IMHO, whereas the others were each featured backs.

The correct answer is Auburn in 1983.
Bo Jackson
Lionel James
Brent Fullwood
Tommie Agee
For those that do not know about James and Aggee:
James:
Fullwood: Top 8 AU back of all time. Behind Stephen Davis, over Rudi Johnson, Ronnie Brown,
Bo Jackson
Lionel James
Brent Fullwood
Tommie Agee
For those that do not know about James and Aggee:
quote:
Thomas Lee Agee (born February 22, 1964 in Chilton County, Alabama) is a former professional American football running back for the Seattle Seahawks, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. Agee played college football at Auburn University, and was drafted by Seattle in the fifth round of the 1987 NFL Draft (the same year as fellow Auburn running backs Brent Fullwood, Bo Jackson, and Tim Jessie). Jackson gives credit for much of his college success to Agee, a great runner and blocker, that went on to play for seven years in the NFL for Seattle, Kansas City, and in two Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys being used as a back up for Daryl Johnston who primarily did the blocking for Emmitt Smith. Agee was also was a special teams player.
James:
quote:
In the 1985 season James set the NFL record for all purpose yards (combined yards rushing, receiving, and returning kicks) in the history of the NFL with 2,535 yards. That same season he also set the record for receiving yards by a running back with 1,027 yards [1] while also leading the AFC in receptions with 86. On November 10th of that same year he had his best day as a pro versus the Los Angeles Raiders. He gained 345 all purpose yards including a career best 168 yards receiving and scored the winning touchdown in overtime.
quote:
James is a study in little moves made right. He has gained 2,194 all-purpose (receiving, rushing and kick returns) yards this season and, with two games left, could break Terry Metcalf's NFL record of 2,462 yards for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1975. James's size obviously hasn't hurt him; that's because he hasn't let it. "This is the way I figure it," he says. "If some guy's bigger than me, then he's not as fast, and if he's as fast—then I guess it's about time for me to get out of the league."
This year, James has twice been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week, once after a 316-yard game against the Bengals on Sept. 22, and again after a 345-yard day against the Raiders on Nov. 10. The latter performance was just 28 yards shy of the single-game record of 373 all-purpose yards set by Billy Cannon of the AFL's Houston Oilers in December 1961. After Sunday's games, James was first in the league in pass receptions with 75 and had scored three TDs of 50 yards or more. Yet here he was joking about being run out of the NFL. "Oh, no, my Lionel won't brag about anything he's done," says Cherrine James, Lionel's mother. "He does it and then he's through with it."
"All season, Lionel has been the most dynamic force on our offense," says Charger receivers coach Al Saunders.

The Dalton/James Gang was just sick.
Beats out the Faulk, Collins, Mealey but they were sick as well before Collins was discovered to be sick in the head.

I'm surprised it took this long to finally get the correct LSU group up.
