I have an Ole Miss helmet signed by Archie Manning, Eli Manning, and John Vaught.

Also, when I was a kid, every year there would be this thing called feed the rebels where the new recruiting class would be brought to Abbeville Catfish house and a bunch of the fans could meet them. Well the year we signed Eli Manning I was standing at the door when the players walked in, and I got him to sign a hat for me right away. He told me it was his first autograph as an Ole Miss rebel, believe what you want.

I pass it and crossroads Cafe(Delicious) everytime I go from Collierville to Oxford for games.

How is it? I have been wanting to stop and check it out.

An adult seeking autographs is well, kind of silly. I don't understand collections either, I mean, you just want to get stuff to look at it, behind a glass? I rather go to a museum/exhibit, and not have to deal with clutter.

I do have an autograph picture of my family with Jo Noah from a charity event. My son got carried around on his shoulders, got his T-shirt signed, and Jo cheered him up when he was crying. Looking up to celebrities is for kids.

Touching story, but the rest of it is bullshite. Just because you think its juvenile doesnt mean everyone else does.

I have an autographed pic of MJ and Scottie Pippen, signed by both. I unfortunately wasnt the person who got it signed, my grandmother bought it for me at an auction. But if I ever had the chance to get MJ's autograph in PERSON, there is no way in hell i'd ever miss the chance. The man was my hero when I was a kid and I still get giddy watching his highlights to this day.

The point is, stuff like that means something to people. It reminds them of moments that brought great joy to them or amazed them to their core. And to have something that is signed by the people that made it happen, especially when you were the one to get it signed, reminds you of the time you were able to touch history with your own hand and be in its presence.

Maybe you think that is for kids. I for one say you are wrong.

I'm not sure that it's even open anymore to be honest.

My dad got Michael Jordan's autograph twice in one day at the Atlanta Classic back in I think 88 or 89. He got one for me and then one for my brother later that day. We got Dominque's the same day.

Way to go pops!

Muhammad Ali. When I was in law school many, many years ago, he came to meet with a professor about some of his international humanitarian work. Sat in the back of a class and patientily signed autographs for us. Parkinson's really impacted him though.

Lyman White. Only autograph I ever got and that's because the chick I was with was good friends with him and invited him to one of our parties. This was back when I was at LSU in 1980 I think.

Now that I'm cool enough to have mingled with celebrities, it has probably been 20 years since I've cared enough to ask someone for their autograph.

But on a serious note, I thought getting Bo Jackson's autograph was pretty damn cool. However, it didn't mean half as much to me as getting Steve Little's.

Steve Little is a God, IMO.
