I don't think Kirby would whistle blow on Tennessee. We are just fine with Pruitt as the headcoach.

It was just a few minutes ago Pruitt had the Vols on a nice winning streak and UT Nation was boasting about their program was on the up and up. Now a few months later and the the UT administration is clearly out to get him.

I get that UT doesn't want to pay a big buyout and are looking to get Pruitt out with cause, but how did it get to this situation? All big time programs cheat, but for your own school to go out on a seek and destroy mission doesn't make sense.

I just don't get how Pruitt fell out of favor so fast. I don't buy the recruiting violations are the reason because Fulmer was one of the biggest cheaters in college football.

So what happened internally that brought this situation to a boiling point?

I swear to God this sounds way to easy of an answer but had Pruitt stopped starting gurantano after Georgia or even Kentucky NONE of this would be happening

And even a veteran like Jim Chaney as OC couldn't get that trainwreck stopped.

Fulmer is trying to get Pruitt out with cause. He will conduct a short interview process with a few coaches, decide they are not right fits for Tennessee, he will name himself head coach.

Far fetched and would kill any good will VOLS fans have for him.

The issue seems to big centered around around personality conflict on staff. Tee Martin is a Fulmer guy not a Pruitt guy and conflicted with other staffers causing cliques between Pruitt guys and Fulmer guys. It spilled over to players with a bunch of Butch Jones players not buying into Pruitts system and style and guys he recruited passing them on the depth chart.

Add in Covid taking spring and contract tracing forcing guys to sit and other guys to play and the staff not trusting but having to play Gitmo until Bailey was ready and losing just magnifying everything it just spiraled out of control.

As long as Fulmer is the AD this will be a problem. Not that he wants to coach but he wants control

Fulmer should have never been hired as the damn AD....It was a power move by the side that didn't want Fulmer fired in 2008 vs the side that did....Name one school in the country that has fired a coach who couldn't handle the one program he was in charge of....pay him 6 million to go away and then hire his arse back to be over the ENTIRE athletic program....Name one other program in the country that has ever done that?

Fulmer never built anything....he took over a solid program from Majors and improved on it for a few years...So we have a AD that hasn't built anything and he hired Pruitt who'd never built anything. Total cluster. If you believe what has been said Pruitt was 5th-6th down the list.

Maurer had off the field issues,( injury, concussions, mental health) and couldn’t go.

Shrout had been a scared turnover machine even time he was trotted out til garbage time against Florida, he couldn’t carry the team.

Bailey didn’t get spring or fall thanks to Covid and contract tracing. We is the future and throwing him to the wolves knowing he isn’t ready was not the answer.

Hill transferred out in the offseason

Holiday was moved to WR and was a true freshman.

Gitmo was the guy by default. A guy that should have known the system by now but just wasn’t trusted and was adequate for 80% of a game but that other 20% cost you games. The plan was to mitigate the 20% by not asking him to do much. He still found ways to cost them games.

He recruited shrout, hill and maurer. Idgaf who they trot out there. Are we suddenly scared of turnover machines? There are few things in this life that are guaranteed, gurantano sucking arse when is one of them.

The tin foil hatter inside me believes Fulmer hired Pruitt away from Tuscaloosa more to hurt Alabama than to help Tennessee.

Let me guess. You think Fulmer turned in Alabama?

Why do so many idiots still believe that BS?

Spurrier turned in Alabama, not Fulmer. All Fulmer did was become the corroborating "secret witness".

What I find so interesting is Fulmer was one of the biggest cheaters in college football and now he's trying to get rid of a guy he hired for doing the exact same thing he did for years!

Cutting off your nose to spite your face is quit dumb.

Wrong. They have fallen well beyond mediocre.

It’s pretty well documented UGA turned in the Vols over A Mimms.
