He never made very good adjustments at half while at La Tech - was a good AD there though

They will not have a winning SEC Record in 2012 either. I just took a look at their schedule

The Athletic Department will have a difficult decision to make in just over a year.

If Tennessee has a losing record in the SEC next year, it should be a very easy decision.

UT is irrelevant in the world of CFB right now and will be the laughing stock of the SEC if you dont give him at least 4-5 years to clean up the mess that Phat Phil and Lame Kitten left behind..Not to mention the culture of no discipline that your AD helped foster.

What if Tennessee is hovering around 6-6 again next year? If Dooley inherits a team with 65 scholarship players and can't improve the teams record by year 3, he sucks.

If I'm not mistaken I believe reading that the median ACT score for this year's incoming football freshman was a 27.

Jesus Christ it's embarrassing to witness all of these Vol fans calling for Dooley's head.

You can't ignore the disaster of a situation he inherited. You also cannot ignore the fact we lost our best defensive player and our top two offensive players this year. We are a team consisting of nothing but sophomores and freshmen.

I'm a season ticket holder and the people who seem to be calling for his job already are not connect to our program in any way.

WTF are you talking about?

Next year's schedule sets nicely for a run.

I agree.

But i do think we have a legit reason to be concerned with his game day management.

What it all comes down to is next season. Next season sets the tone. And really the Florida game sets the tone.

He could have the greatest game plan of all time, but if he relying on sophomores and freshmen to execute that game plan it could all go to shite... Right?

If he does not have some significant improvements next year, then I'll be concerned. Every reasonable Vol fan should've know where we are in our program.

I would agree with this, yes. I simply mean the wasted timeouts, not having the right guys on the field at certain times. There appears to be a lack of communication.. but this is fixable.

I agree with this too. I'm not trying to fire Dooley. I hope he stays 2 more years just to help stabilize the program even if next year isn't as successful as we hope it is.

Alabama is the only game on the schedule next year that isn't winnable. Tennessee is returning 19 starters plus Bray and Hunter.

9-3 will be expected.

The bigger problem for Dooley is recruiting. He recruits decently well -- but not as well as he needs to for Tennessee to become a powerhouse again.

Well said, and I agree.

Alabama in Knoxville is winnable, unless they lose much less then I think they do.

Laughable considering Kiffin was able to outdo Spurrier and Richt coming off a 5-7 season.

Really? You're basing that off of one game? I guess SC passed UT as a program in '05 when Spurrier won in his 1st game here too.

Coaching looks like a far bigger issue than recruiting right now.

They can't overcome the lack of in-state talent. They will never again consistently match UGA and UF in the East, nor will they match USC so long as Spurrier is there.

UT has had one of it's worst stretches in history while Spurrier has been at USC and the Gamecocks barely have the edge.

This probably supports his point.
