I'm not sure it will ever be the same. Both colors were darker when we wore Russell. Plus, Nike kind of shite on us when Tub was there.

.........and Under Armour pays us a shite ton of money.

Yeah, I’m not complaining too much. I reap some of the benefits occasionally .

Auburn's color scheme and jersies are among the best in the SEC and country. Beats the HELL outta all those schools with various shades of red as their main color.

Tv has screwed up colors with their "HD" going over the top.

Bama looks red on tv but in person more resembles a light maroon. Hell, my wife asked me last night when LSU changed to royal blue.

I certainly think it has changed. I don't know where it falls on the color scale or if it is truly akin to ours, but I work with UVA dudes who wear some Nike stuff that looks far more similar to what I recall from my childhood.

It's still two different colors

For the record, I really like Auburn's unis, but the burnt orange looks better

You need to adjust the color on your TV.

Maybe, but the point I was making is that you can’t really make that call given the photos you’re presenting. The first picture of Bo you posted and the one I shared look radically different because of the conditions in which the photo was taken, but they’re the same jersey. Same with the one of Nick you posted.

The color hasn't changed. The school is pretty particular about that.

You're wrong.

The board of trustees voted on the schools colors in 1949, when Auburn was still called the Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Looking back in the minutes the board was presented with several color swatches to assist them in selecting the exact colors.

According to the minutes Auburn’s first official colors were technically called ultramarine blue and golden orange.

“They have varied over time and have tended to have gotten brighter and sharper,” Coleman said.

The colors today are more commonly referred to as burnt orange and navy.

Auburn has now been sporting orange and blue for over a century.

You're wrong.

As most designers know, precise color matching can be difficult depending on the medium being used, and the art or special effects being used. OCM recommends the following PMS colors for their proven versatility and quality consistency across multiple mediums:

Orange PMS 158
Blue PMS 289

CMYK percentages for PMS-289 and PMS-158 are:

PMS-289 cyan 100, magenta 64, black 60, (no yellow)
PMS-158 magenta 61, yellow 97, (no cyan, no black)

In recent years, although it does not appear to be the original Auburn Orange, Orange PMS 172 has been used, with mixed results. Vendors and designers have noted that screen effects with 172 usually result in various shades of pink, and darker versions frequently appear red, limiting creative uses of the color and leading many to select alternate shades of orange.

As OCM develops a design standard for the campus, we will move toward PMS 158 as the official color to avoid these problems, and to more closely match historical Auburn Orange. In the interim, either PMS 158 or 172 may be used; however, we strongly advise careful review of printer proofs if Orange 172 is used, due to its often extreme quality variations.

You're wrong

holy shite!! Only a Bama fans obsession with Auburn is strong enough to make somebody get that worked up over another schools secondary color for their athletic teams

Fandom was solidified in the 90s, and while some of the minor details of the uni have changed, the unis are largely unchanged to me, especially regarding color.
