Wrong. ESPN would kill for Bama to make it. It is well known the Tide bring in the most viewers on average to CFB. You have all the Fans that love the Tide and then the whole rest of the country that would tune in to see if we lose.

Can’t happen, we’d meet in Semis if they beat Miami.

Would we ever really get the true numbers or whatever ESPN wants to feed us? I am skeptical of the NFL numbers at times

With Advertisement revenue based upon viewing numbers I would be surprised if it were not illegal to report inaccurate numbers.

Are we on a message board specifically related to college football?

Are we in a thread about college football ratings?

If you aren’t interested in discussing either maybe you should see yourself out?

If not, maybe check into the ratings before going on an angry rant.

Want to guess who the #1 team in CFB is as far as TV ratings is?
On3 - TV ratings by team 2025

Want to guess who had the most weeks on top of the CFB ratings with 4?

Want to guess how many weeks they had a top 5 rating? 8

Sportsmediawatch - CFB ratings by week

Why not go back a little further, unless you are cherrypicking? The idea that Alabama is the undisputred ratings king and Bama making the championship game would be some huge thing for ESPN's ratings is delusional.

100000% correct. Nobody knows the viewer numbers or how long the viewed it. They never give details

So your disproval attempt of a statement I didn’t make is predicated on statistics that show Bama has been #1 multiple years and no worse than #3 every year you cite? Weird rebuttal.

And again, I didn’t claim Bama is the undisputed multi year ratings champ, you are the only one to make that strawman in an attempt to dispute an argument you apparently didn’t like.

The original statement that you freaked out about was that half the (CFB) nation tunes in to watch Bama win and half the country tunes in to watch them lose, which the data at a game level going back a decade plus supports.

There's not a lot of disparity, numbnuts. That was my point. The idea that Bama making the national championship game would be some ratings bonanza for ESPN is just silly and bizarre.

Bama is the #1 team in ratings all season and has been top three every year you cited. They draw eyeballs because people love them and love to hate them like the Yankees.

The baseline numbers for any major game they appear in is at par or exceeds any other team in the country on average.

Exactly how would them appearing in a NC game not result in high ratings relative to other options based on all the available data?

The Big 10 championship game ratings jumped by 75 percent this year and it was the most-watched Big 10 championship game ever. Alabama playing in its first national championship game in 4 years would be a neat story, but I think that Indiana is transcending college football right now and Indiana would be better for ratings and I'm standing by that.
