What were you doing in 2005?

I was a very young Staff Sergeant on my first deployment. There were some rough moments for sure, but also many funny ones I will never forget like suntanning on top of mortar bunkers during free time, me watching our gym tent catch on fire, and countless jokes made about our idiot OIC, and our pussy arse NCOIC who couldn't handle the "combat stress" of working with said idiot OIC.
It was also the last year Georgia lost to Auburn in Georgia.

2005 was a great year.
I was married for 3 years.
Father of a 1 year old.
And just gave birth to a baby girl who is the biggest UGA Dawg fan that I know.
Literally, her first words were Go Dawgs.
We have watched lots of GDay games together and were blessed to watch Stetson's breakout game against UAB in Sanford.
We have watched every game together since 2017.
She waits tables. Sometimes, we have avoided scores and watched playoff games after midnight.
Sometimes I listen to the game on the radio and watch with her on Sunday.
When she is busy with school, I have had to wait a week and do a double-header with her the following Saturday.
One of the biggest joys of my life is Saturdays in the Fall with family.
We even get to see the Ice Dawgs kick arse and take names at least once a season.
Go Dawgs.

Got home from first deployment in 2005 and quickly made a baby.

I had a friend who did that.
But the wife was doing it just to cover up the fact she was already knocked up by someone else weeks before. I’ll say the baby looked nothing like my friend and that got the ball rolling.

I had just turned 12, and Bama football was actually not a total disappointment that season.

I was thinking Texas was about to go on a long run of football excellence, and I don't think I was alone.

That was in the late 90s. I only really remember doing it once. I was at the top of a staircase and felt like I could just jump down to the floor and nothing would happen. Luckily someone stopped me.

I was married for just over a year and my wife had our 1st child in October, 2005. Also, had just started the best paying job I had ever had up to that point in my life, and the Longhorns had their best season ever with Vince Young at QB.
Great year!
