Worst because of implications?

Kick 6 has to be worst on this end. Bama was looking at an almost certain 3-peat if not for that loss.

Was pretty rough to take at the time. Not as big of a deal now, but the historical implications still exist.

It's silly to see the highlight still shown though. Difficult to see the relevance to current college football seasons.

I was told that you're never allowed to use injuries as an excuse for losing a title game, and instead, just admit you lost to the much better team and that the injured players would have had no impact on the outcome.

TYIA!

Different rules for first year pissants and charter members of the conference.

You're welcome.

But if you're referencing BuT mUh iF CoLt HaD pLaYeD, you're right. BAMA wins that game no matter what.

Yeah, it's pretty irrelevant in 2024.

I hope they are still showing in 2084, because it'll mean the same thing it means now - Auburn ain't done since shite.

There is no need to give them a better highlight IMO.

Whoever told you that is correct, but beware, you must have a ballsack and a football IQ above a monkey to accept and state this truth. Ironically, it was a wise Bama fan on this very forum who did NOT use those injury excuses that stated: "Championship teams have championship depth."

This is a stupid fricking argument.
To think uga wins any games with Herschel's backup is just fricking stupid.
Jamo and Metchie were the receiving corps in 2021 much like Herschel was the entire uga offense for 3 years.

No. Not really. That wasn't a good team.

The worst loss of the Saban era was the NC game after the 2016 season. That was an all time great team. They'll be forgotten soon enough, but going into that game, the 2016 Bama team was the statistical all time GOAT, according to 538. Lost the NC on an uncalled illegal pick play.
Kiffin coached Hurts to an Offensive Player of the Year performance.

Well, that's refreshing. At least you admit it. I admire your honesty.

OSU was also coached by a pretty good coach at the time. They fell off a cliff with Ryan Day. Plus they had NFL players on the field just as Bama did. No shame in losing that game. I’d agree that the Clemson game in 2018 was the absolute worst.

I disagree.

Georgia rarely played ranked teams then and played cupcake schedules that would make Boise St blush.

In 1980 Georgia played only 1 ranked team, #7(9 final) Notre Dame. He rushed for 150 yards and 2 TD. Georgia wins, and becomes the NC as a result.

In 1981 they played eventual NC Clemson. They lost 13-3. Walker never even managed a TD. The Georgia QB threw 5 interceptions and Walker fumbled the ball twice, but did manage to break 100 yards....after getting 28 carries.

The other ranked team they played in 1981 was Pitt in the bowl game. Georgia lost again. Walker scored a pair of TDs, but unable to pull out the win.

Georgia beat 0 ranked teams that year.

In 1982 they opened the season with #11(8 final) Clemson, who won the NC previous. Georgia won the game, however not because of their offense. It was their special teams that blocked a punt for a TD. Walker was slightly injured and didn't start the game, but did get some carries, but mostly played as a decoy.

#1 Georgia would then go on to play #2 Penn St in the sugar bowl and lose. Penn St would be crowned the NC as a result. Walker played well, but Georgia lost.

And I'm pretty sure that highlights every ranked game Walker played in over his 3 years at Georgia. While Georgia was a SEC team, they did not actually play the better teams of the SEC. He never played a game against Alabama.

In 1982 when Penn St won the NC, Penn St did play Alabama - and it was their only loss of the year, 42-21. Not Georgia. Nor did Georgia play #11 LSU that year. etc.

So basically, Walker won a single ranked game in 3 years and dodged all the good teams of the SEC.

Losing to Clemson 44 -16 is the worst. Just because of the stage it was one.

I agree. Had Tua not had the inexplicable fumble then Alabama would have won the game. Then we would have avoided all the chirping from LSU fans about the greatest team ever. At least in terms of the SEC Rant, that was far and away the worst loss.
