Stopped here
Sun Belt champions (8-0), two plays away from beating NC State and Ga Tech, denied a bowl bid because it was their first year in FBS.

Enh there are some teams, Idaho for example, that probably would be well served to move back to FCS level. There are other schools folks have mentioned that have usually done quite well but are just in bad stretches right now.
Hell, for years Southern Miss was the best football program in their state until they crashed and burned. The MAC might not be a huge factor in the championship but all of them are fairly solid schools. Colorado might be on life support but the PAC-12 money will eventually bring them back to life.
Plus, while they might lose money on the programs, a lot of these universities see being a FBS level school as a way to raise the profile of the school and bring in more students. If they are willing to fork out the cash then let 'em stay.

Still waiting on this link showing that GA Southern made money on football.

Arkansas State was winning championships at the lower level.I never saw the reasoning for their move.

It is their judgment call, not ours.

About 70 percent of teams not in power conferences

Wyoming belongs -- those folks need them to stay FBS, plus they have tradition and history.

According to that list Tater Tot Bowden has really got those Akron Zips fans fired up. Attendance dropped by 49% to 9,000/game. Could not happen to a nicer guy.

First off there are many teams in the FCS that have a lot of history and tradition. Yale, Harvard, Montana, the Dakota teams, I'll have all lot of tradition history and some okay local fan support.
I'm not suggesting they cancel football. I'm saying that none of the teams I listed belong in the FBS competing against teams like Alabama, LSU, UCLA, Washington, Ohio State, Or any of the power five schools.
None of the teams I listed barring maybe Colorado if they actually decided to spend some money on their football program, are ever going to compete for a national title or even compete for a playoff berth. They would be much better served at an FCS level where they were more competitive against like teams.
