What programs did the best job w/2016 recruiting class and how they rank

From The Athletic…
Rating system they used for their ranking...
5 points: All-American, award winner, top-50 NFL draft pick
4: Multiyear starter, all-conference honors
3: One-year starter or key reserve
2: Career backup
0: Left the program, minor or no contribution
"To track how these classes fared, we’re counting 2016 scholarship signees, transfers who joined the program in 2016 and walk-ons in this class who were later put on scholarship or developed into starters. Each player in a class gets a score from 0 to 5 points based on what they’ve achieved during their playing careers. The intent here is not to project what they might accomplish in 2020 if they’re returning as fifth-year seniors but to stick to what they’ve proven so far"...….
….."In addition to evaluating production and retention, our rankings also weigh a program’s success during this four-year period. We add a bonus to each team’s average, derived from its total number of wins from 2016 through 2019. Thus, the adjusted average for a class is its average score plus its wins bonus. For example, LSU went 42-11 over these four years, so its class average received a bonus of 0.42."

No points for National Champion as a senior?

Interesting. So does that mean Auburn didn't make the Top 30?

Based on that ranking, the teams that did the best with where they are ranked:
1. Clemson (two titles)
2. LSU (one title, only champion ranked outside top 10)
3. Bama (one title)
4. Oklahoma (playoffs every year)
5. UGA (in the hunt annually, multiple playoff appearances)

You can't give LSU a bump based on their low ranking.
You're ignoring multiple playoff appearances and multiple conference titles vs. one good season.

Why not? The question was who performed better based on how their 2016 class is ranked. Bama performed about as you'd expect being at #2 on the list. LSU exceeded expectations for being #11 on the list. As did OU being #18.
LSU also won a NY6 bowl in 2018, which most would consider a good season. Considering other variables like a mid-season coaching change in 2016, I disagree that a bump for LSU is unwarranted.

If anyone wonders why Matt Luke was fired, this is a good indicator. Good grief some good talent got wasted on some bad coaching.

One of Georgia's 2016 recruits got a superbowl ring last night. That should be worth six points.

Correct.

When did UGA appear in multiple playoffs?
It’s just 2017 right?

Yep, you're right. I was recalling their two games in the same season.

Damn, that was one of our better classes.. 9 starters & 5 were pretty damn good. Not good enough apparently.

One of Auburn’s worst classes, actually.
Derek Brown, Marlon Davidson, and Daniel Thomas were highlights. Eli stove Kam Martin, and Nick Coe were solid role players.
The rest...ouch.
