I am not a lawyer but have been deposed multiple times. 
Advice I have been given is don't ever participate in a deposition or testify in court if you have a choice unless something good is expected tomcome of it.

It is amazing how the line can be drawn so clearly on the issue based on fandom and no one knows anything more than what they have read and based on those readings, the assumptions are polar opposite.
I think I will probably just wait and see how things play out.

He is also admitting he is afraid of perjury charges for lying under oath. Remember, the hacker hasn't been caught. No telling what is out there to come. They are panicking about all of this behind closed doors.

Bingo........imagine standing in court and telling the "truth", only to have the hacker read it and send out evidence to the contrary. Hugh has no clue what he can lie about and what he can't, but if he can get it sealed, then no one knows what he says.
For an "honest" program, lots of questionable stuff hitting the news these days.

Yeah, but if Freeze lies publicly and the hacker has information that can prove he's lying, he can release it anonymously and it would be a public relations nightmare for Ole Miss.
