Hey I was born and raised in NOLA, I know.
Louisiana is the only place in the world where the lessor of the two political evils might happen to be actual evil that is in jail during the campaign.

quote:“Due to proposed state budget cuts to higher education that would significantly impact LSU, the athletic department has decided to delay breaking ground on our new Tiger Athletic Nutrition Center, which was scheduled for later this spring. “Though all of the money has been raised, through private donations, to complete the project, we feel that the current climate of austerity surrounding our university compels us to move in a more deliberate manner."
You are pretty much forced to go on the cheap and limit spending when faced with cuts this drastic. Very sobering set of circumstances that will impact a whole lot of lives. Athletics is secondary to academics.

What NCAA sanctions are the Aggies facing?

Hire better compliance officers so you don't get sanctions.

You don't know wtf you're talking about. Our own people turn us in. That's how good they are.
Does your compliance office hate LSU? ('Cause those were some stiff damn penalties IMO)
So LSU was supposed to know what the SEC penalties were going to be BEFORE they self-reported? And if they somehow magically KNEW this, were they NOT supposed to self-report ????????????????????

that is how most compliance folks are you DA. They don't work for any coach. That is why most stuff is self reporting because the compliance department caught something or became aware of something.

Those numbers are exaggerated. There will be some cuts, but nowhere near those "possiblities".
And even some of the cuts they do make may be temporary.
There may be some costs/tuition increases to come
Also, the LSU Athletic Department gives millions to the Unvirsity every year.

A good compliance officer asks questions like "wtf are you doing?" before you commit violations. Like a good auditor, their job is to keep you from committing violations, not just report them after the fact. It should be symbiotic. You tell compliance what you want to do and they help you find creative ways to do it without violating rules.
You don't know anything about auditing

Re: the discussion re: compliance, LSU is again fighting with one hand tied behind its back. We are poised to sign the #1 class in America with Benny Simmons, Blakeny and the Malik Morgan kid out of Madison Prep near Jackson MS. Men's NCAA Basketball is one of the sleaziest sports at this level to recruit.
You hear not a sniff out of our Compliance Department. Meanwhile, the Football Team tapes Spring Practice last year and puts up a highlight and the video office gets a call for the raw uncut video so it can see how many recruits were on the sidelines that we caught on fillm-that we cut each one out of and never saw the light of day on any site or screen-by accident so they could catch football in a Secondary violation.
There's two points that help illustrate this seeming double standard:
1.) Our Compliance Head is a former Dale Brown Ball Boy for LSU Hoops.
2.) Nick Saban had the Ball Boy transferred to head up the LSU Ticket Office while he was the coach.
Since #2 occurred and he later reclaimed his position after Saban departed, LSU Football's expectation of a symbiotic relationship disappeared in a puff of smoke.
