I think this is the year we really see Mullen put it together at Florida. He isn't an elite recruiter but just being in Florida will give him enough talent to field great teams most years and his strength is development.

I think we will see Miss St. fall off this year too. I don't think it's fully realized how much he did for that program and how lucky they were to keep him as long as they did.

Ok, explain this. You keep on avoiding any well thought out points.

Wishful thinking. Mullen really gave our program a boost, but he was never great at crootin. Moorehead did a decent job at it, and Leach should have a decent enough team to work with. Should see a bowl game at least, keeping that streak alive.

MSU’s big advantage recently has been its ability to recruit top notch in-state defensive talent. I think we’ll have a fine enough defense Leach’s first 2 seasons but after that will really be the test.

No I'm saying Mullen needs another Dak Prescott right now.

He best ONE decent team One. He’s nothing special and wil never get over the hump . Worst recruiter in the East.

I don't look for us to be good on defense anytime soon, unless Arnett's scheme works better than expected in year one. We have depth issues up front. Getting Davis and Wheat may save us.

Mullen did far better at MSU than I thought he could, dammit.

If he can recruit well at Florida he should be very successful.

Mullen's last two seasons there: 6-7 and 8-4
Moorhead's two seasons: 8-5 and 6-7
At least JoMo didn't go to a bowl game with a losing record bc of some bs technicality

Mullen left the cupboard stacked for Moorhead. 8-5 was a major disappointment. That should have been a 10 win team. Both Moorheads seasons had more talent than the two before when Mullen was still coach and he underachieved in both.

I think they are in trouble. I like Leach and i want to see him do well there. I just don't think he will next season. He usually gets rolling around season 3-4 and the other two conferences weren't the SEC west.

Does Moorhead have the better 2 seasons?

"What Mullen did last year was amazing"

He got a huge break! Miami and Florida State were so bad! Mullen came at the right time to get Florida up in recruiting while the other schools in Florida and other schools that recruits Florida hard have been down for a while and that helped Mullen to get the recruits. That is what turned the tide for Florida!

He came in at the right time, the transfer portal era. Helps make up for his recruiting deficiency.

Is this why Kirby brought in two transfer quarterbacks this offseason?

No. In fact, Just the opposite reason: recruiting too good.

The transfer portal era is why Kirby has to do that. In any other era, Justin fields is the uga qb.
