The motorcycle accident that killed a program

It really is incredible. They go from having a legitimate argument of being one of the three best teams in college football going into the last week of the 2011 season to absolute cratering of the program just a few seasons later. All because Bobby took an ill fated motorcycle ride

Is there a more lopsided win in the SEC over the last 20 years than that one? Has an SEC school ever been outgained by 600+ yards?

In the last 20 specifically? It's hard to imagine.

Alabama outscored Ole Miss 66-3 in 2017, but yardage wise it's a LOT closer. Alabama out gained Ole Miss by 360; they out gained Vandy by 599 yards (so over 600 if you don't subtract mercy knees). Both sides of Vandy were so thoroughly dominated - they didn't reach 100 yards of total offense.

LSU came damned close to out gaining A&M by 400 yards last year (384 yards). Alabama out gained Tennessee by 431 yards, but just missed the "40 point beatdown club" with a score of 49-10 (and had 2 NOTs). Alabama out gained Texas A&M in 2014 by 430 yards (59-0). Alabama tended to follow a weird trajectory in those years:

Year 1 - Team A (Texas A&M / Ole Miss) wins close game
Year 2 - Team A loses or wins close game
Year 3 - Team A gets utterly obliterated by over 50 points

If that 2011 Arkansas team had been in any other conference, there's a pretty decent chance they play LSU in the NCG instead of Alabama. Must have sucked to have one of the better teams in school history to only get stuck in the same division as Alabama and LSU being head and shoulders above the rest of college football that year.
