The first game I attended was Alabama vs. Penn State in 1990.
My much older brother had been a student at Alabama in the 80s, and I had stacks of programs of Ray Perkins-era games. I literally read programs cover to cover in excitement of attending a top 10 matchup. It was back when every game wasn't on television, and this was a big prime time network TV (ABC probably) game.
9-0. Penn State kicked three field goals. May have been the most boring game in the history of Bryant Denny Stadium.

1978 Orange Bowl
#6 Flagship led by Lou Holtz defeated #2 Choklahoma Sooners 31-6.
The victory by the Hogs kept the Sooners from winning the National title that year. Notre Dame finished #1, however, Alabama still claims this title also.

we've never claimed that title (not sure if you're being serious or sarcastic) ...
an early memory is of bama losing to the dame for the 2nd consecutive year in '75 orange bowl ...

Truth. Honestly it's a tweet I stole. That said, the fact the braves are almost the buffalo bills with their winning 1/5 WS and their recent run of terrible playoff luck I gotta let them stay.
I was also 5 when they won and one of the few years I didn't even live in GA.
It would've been so much better if they had won the WS in 91 or 92.

I went to elementary school with Hokie Gajan's little brother, so I kinda remember him playing with LSU a game or two. I very vaguely remember LSU losing, what, the Sun Bowl? to Missouri back in the late 70's.
First game I attended was ... maybe Oregon St in Dalton Hilliard's freshman year. That was also the first time I truly fell in love with LSU football and actually followed each game devoutly.

Monsoon game against ecu in 95 or 96.
Water was so deep walking out of the stadium my dad had to carry me back to the car on his shoulders

Watching Tony Dungy start at QB for the Gophers in old Memorial Stadium in 1973.

1982 - LSU 20, Bama 10.
Have many vague, spotty memories of various games prior to that, but that one stands out as the first complete game I remember.

I can't remember the year, but I distinctly remember being very young, watching Tennessee play UCLA and my little brother trying to be a contrarian by saying he was for "the blue guys."

Hopefully you are comforted by the fact that this was the very last piece of luck our football program had

Maybe. I think it might've been the one we lost in '94. I can't say for sure except it was in Pasadena.

1982 Bo's freshman year vs Herschel in JHS. Dont remember the exact score but Auburn lost by less than a TD.

Going to on campus Aggie Bonfire in the early 90s. My late uncle used to put me on his shoulders (he was taller than my dad) so I could see the stack being lit.
Good times.
