I am kind of a rut being an LSU fan who lives in Oxford, MS while getting a degree at Miss. State, so excluding those for me, I always enjoy the trip to Athens, GA. Great bars and venues on a very nice campus/town. How about you?

Why?

Born in Thibodaux to a diehard LSU family. Moved to Columbus, MS when I was a young kid and State was the closest and economical option. I teach and coach in Oxford now - good schools and near home.

Seeing as how I've only been to UTk, USC, Auburn, and Alabama I'm gonna have to go with Tuscaloosa.
The others I've been to are disrespectful to the term Civilization.

Athens is the only answer to this thread unless you're a UGA fan. Just a cool town, and it doesn't have a whole lot of competition.

1 Had the most fun in Athens.
2 Nashville is awesome.
3 and 4 South Carolina and Lexington have been great trips.
5 and 6 Auburn and MSU are made for tailgating.
7 Tuscaloosa is a good time.
8 Did not care for Ole Miss or Florida.
* Never been to a game at Mizzou, Arkansas, or aTm.

How can someone be a fan of a school that they didn't attend? I've never understood this.

I like Nashville the best, but that has nothing to do with Vandy
Athens is the most like State College so that's my #1.

Maybe growing up following the team but your education is more important? Just a thought...

Some people grow up Alabama/Auburn/Georgia fans. Should they not go to Vanderbilt or Duke because they're fans of a different school?

I was the diehard LSU crazy in elementary school-high school. I applied and was accepted to LSU, was offered a little scholarship money for ACT and Swimming, but not enough to cover expenses to the point of making it a serious option. Starkville was closer, cheaper and a job waiting for me which paid for school. I remember always buying State season tickets just to go to the LSU game and sitting in the away section.

But you're still a state fan, right? You're not the dick that goes to class in an LSU hoodie I hope.

I pull for State when not playing LSU.
No, never wore LSU gear on campus. Kind of kept that to myself. I worked in the Kinesiology Dept. and was surrounded by student-ahtletes and had great relationships with them and the staff. Never would have worked pulling for LSU so openly. I kept that to myself.

Athens and Nashville are tops, no doubt. I also enjoy Lexington and Fayetteville.
