What is with all this "deserve" crap?

I have been hearing this word deserve a lot lately. Why do some of you feel you deserve better? This is worst mentality you can have and leads down a dangerous road. No one deserves anything and especially not when talking about college sports. Sometimes your team sucks but man up. Don't act like you are better than everyone else and that you deserve better.

LSU is objectively better than programs like Arkansas. Sorry to be the one to break the news to you. It's why the last two games have been so painful.

OP is 100% spot on. It's sad to see the PC, millennial attitude crossover to college sports fandom. Sad, but not unexpected.

SEC Rant during the off-season: "At least we don't have a retard for our coach that under achieves every year. LSU could do so much better."
SEC Rant during the season: "Les Miles can't coach worth a shite. All that talent and no QB yet again."
SEC Rant when Miles is on the hot seat: "Look at his record, he's the best coach in LSU history. He deserves to be treated so much better than how the LSU fans treat him. It would be a huge mistake to get rid of him."

BTW this isn't even directed at LSU. I know some LSU fans have been saying this now because of what has happened the last few weeks but almost all fan bases use this word.

I can somewhat understand the term as it applies to football. If you have mediocre fan support, mediocre cash, mediocre pay for coaches, and mediocre facilities, then anything above mediocre in terms of performance should be considered a gift. If you have excellent fan support, are flush with cash, have a high-paid coaching staff, and excellent facilities, I don't think it's completely unreasonable to expect a return on that investment. That having been said, I think LSU is jumping the gun a bit by firing Les.
