That team on 2013. Terrible attitude, leadership. Jameis and his bullshite affected the team and was “Rat Poison”. Still had a nucleus from 2013. Jimbo told them that their preparation and practice was terrible. That it would catch up with them, it did in the 2nd Half of that Rose Bowl game against the Quack Attack.

Fsu played 5 ranked teams that season
Three teams finished the season ranked. And that includes Auburn. One of the worst championship schedules

Look at their margin of victory
Because they played shite teams, not sure why you are trying to state otherwise

OSU...should have never been there

Fsu was the best team in the 2010s and one of the best ever. Averaged more points, top 3 defense, larger margin of victory, all 22 starters went to the NFL. They were stacked. By the way you add Duke and Auburn and that is 5 ranked teams.

Lol no, the played three teams including Auburn who were ranked at the end of the season. Not 5...
Rank during the season doesn’t matter. The teams they played averaged slightly above .500 again that’s why the high margin of victory. You play shitty teams, you should win big. ETA correction under .500

My vote would be 2017 Bama. Strange national title game where both teams got handled by auburn just weeks earlier. They deserved to win it in a great title game but I would call them the weakest of the 10 2010 champions.

It had a better offense than 2019 Lsu or 2020 Alabama because they averaged more points per game than both
Considering they ran up the score way more than LSU or Bama, having more ppg is not surprising.
Hell, when scoring 80 on a 1 win Idaho, 21 of those came in the 4th quarter. 21 in the last quarter vs Maryland while notching a 63 point win.
FSU ran up scores. Their offense was not “better.”

Fsu was just a better overall team. The defense was dominant and got the ball back to their offense so quick and the offense was able to score a lot of points because the defense was so dominant. 2013 was the best. Even when facts are staring you in the face to prove that they were the best you can't accept the stats.

Auburn was Cam Newton with mediocre talent around him
Cam was surrounded by a Senior dominated offensive line. Most people don’t realize how good the OL was that year.

4th quarter scoring in games where each team won by less than 17 (so at most 2 scores):
2013 Florida State:
Scoring offense: 51.6 ppg
Average 9.2 points
5 double digit 4th quarters
2 over 20 point 4th quarters
15.2% of overall scoring attributed to running up scores.
2019 LSU:
Scoring offense: 48.4 ppg
Average 7.1 points
2 double digit 4th quarters
0 over 20 point 4th quarters
10.7% of overall scoring attributed to running up scores.
202 Alabama:
Scoring offense: 48.5 ppg
Average 7.4 points
3 double digit 4th quarters
0 over 20 point 4th quarters
12.9% of overall scoring attributed to running up scores.
Found it interesting to apply a 3-score limit (24 points) and look at second half scoring for each offense.
2013 Florida State:
Scoring offense: 51.6 ppg
Average 2nd half blowout points: 25.5 ppg
Over 35 points: 3 games
42.3% of total points for offense
Games not applicable: Boston College, Auburn
2019 LSU:
Scoring offense: 48.4
Average 2nd half blowout points: 23 ppg
Over 35 points: 1 game
25.3% of total points for offense
Games not applicable: Texas, Florida, Mississippi State (barely), Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, Clemson
2020 Alabama:
Scoring offense: 48.5
Average 2nd half blowout points: 18.5
Over 35 points: 1 game
23.5% of total points for offense
Games not applicable: Missouri, Ole Miss, Georgia, Florida, Notre Dame
Alabama and LSU definitely endeavored to slow down their offenses during blowouts. Florida State did not.
Alabama's 2020 opponents lacked "stat padding" games to make their offensive and defensive numbers look better.
Despite this, opposing offenses to Alabama's defense ranked 19 spots higher on average scoring offense, and opposing defenses ranked 8 spots higher (in relation to Florida State's opponents)
LSU, who's opponents better contrast numerically because had the benefit of "stat padding" games, ranked 24 spots higher on average on offense, and 16 spots higher on defense.
Florida State played, on average, worse offenses, worse defenses, and had a higher tendency to run up the score than either 2019 LSU or 2020 Alabama.
This is why FEI ranks Alabama's 2020 offense at 2.47, LSU's 2019 offense at 2.20, and FSU's 2013 offense at 1.72.
Pretty sure Florida State wasn't even the most efficient offense in 2013. That was Texas A&M.
