What is the general consensus here on ranking of SEC campuses based on scenic beauty?

And before Tennessee fans chime in…. The whole Knoxville/Tennessee River thing is quite scenic, yes. But your campus is small and cramped with shockingly no green space. It sucks.

Only ones I haven’t seen are Mizzou and South Carolina. So I won’t rank them.

1. Georgia
2. Arkansas
3. LSU
4. Ole Miss
5. Florida
6. Alabama
7. Kentucky
8. Auburn
12. (tie) State
12. (tie) Vanderbilt
12. (tie) A&M
16. Tennessee

State is more beautiful than LSU, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, A&M, Texas, OK, Ole Miss, Vandy, UK, SC, Missouri.
Somewhat similar to Auburn.
Arkansas and Georgia are very nice though so I will rank them ahead of State.

That’s actually being addressed. Multiple projects going on plus long term plan to move parking areas to the edges of campus so that greenways can be introduced.

The surrounding areas really hurt lsu but the campus itself is nice
And the downtown levee pathway is a pretty cool feature

All due respect, Ole Miss’ campus is more beautiful than State’s. Have spent lots of time at both schools

Arkansas' campus has some views out into the mountains that are as beautiful as any campus anywhere. It sits on a hilltop plateau and you can see Old Main from many miles away, and it looms over the Dickson St area. Makes for some cool vistas.

The architecture has never followed a consistent pattern, so Arkansas campus is chopped up into areas that don't resemble the others. That's the biggest hit against it. Modernists.

This is a brand new building though, so there is finally some pushback against it.

Both of these are nicer than LSU's. The LSU buildings look like they need some pressure washing, there are cracks in the external walls, the Union is a dated dump, and the campus, because of the live oaks is dark. There are dumpsters visible all over that are at times filled, the regular garbage cans are crappy looking and many buildings have window frames that are rusting.

Auburn and MSU are both cleaner and appear to be in good repair.

Fayetteville is at the south end of the NWA metro area, and city quickly drops off into basically wilderness on the south end. You get some views from campus out into the Ozarks that still make you feel like you're out in the middle of nowhere, even though you're in a metro of 600k people.

You can make an argument for Auburn. I think it should be higher on the OP's list. No way State's campus is nicer than LSU's.

I don’t think you’ve been to LSU in a while. There is a lot less deferred maintenance than there used to be. The inventory of un-renovated buildings has shrunk dramatically.

Scenic beauty? Arkansas for sure of the campuses I’ve seen. Oxford is quite charming. If we’re talking purely scenic beauty, Tennessee is in the mix. Shame about the people out there though.

Edit: Never been to U of Kentucky, but I’ve heard it’s quite lovely.

What the hell are you talking about? That campus is clean, the buildings are clean, the trees are of all different species and look great. Old Main, the old YMCA building and those similar buildings are very nice looking. The union is new. The one dorm that looks like an issue is Hull, and the McCarthy gymnasium is dated but they are in similar condition to many buildings on LSU's campus.

. Architecture on lsu campus is really nice but good lord the campus is too big to me and is so spread out. Only other one I have been to is Alabama and it’s really nice and everything is in walking distance. My youngest son and I would like to visit all of the SEC campuses at some point but that ain’t cheap.

I’m from south La lived in BR for a few years and now live in ga. I’m actually on a job site on the uga campus in Athens. To me Athens is much nicer than BR. And I hate to say that
