Because he runs a scheme he based on the old Wing-T that you only see at the high school levels nowadays.

With no insult intended to Gus this is the truth. You are basically seeing a Wing-T/Veer offense adapted to the shotgun and ran at high speeds.

When he first trotted it out no one had seen anything quite like it and Gus blew the doors off of folks. Now everyone has seen it. It can still work just fine, but he needs the right pieces of the puzzle to make it work or he needs to have a significant talent advantage.

As an example, Florida was able to throttle Auburn but I have little doubt the War Beagles will run up and down the field on Arkansas.

He's seriously lacking the OL and RB he needs.

Are they growing these as backups in case a Bama fan poisons your other ones?

He is a smart coach, but he thinks his offensive philosophy will work no matter what as long as his players execute the script.

LSU fans can relate.

First off I agree with his lack of passing routes.

But the idea it’s outdated or won’t work is laughable. Every offense will work with the right players, execution, and proper play calls. Every single one. Now some are built with more long passing plays to score faster.

But this idea that some offenses are better then others is laughable.

LSU has a very good team this year. But this entire idea that they are unbeatable is laughable. They have a difficult schedule and a couple turnovers and they can lose to multiple teams on their schedule very easily. Even Brady and Manning have bad games.

Substitution rules took away his ability to run up to the line, read the defense, sub players, change his play call......and snap the ball while the clock while the defense was virtually frozen.

And yes he will run like crazy on the Hogs, because he lost RB#1 and has get another work horse ready for LSU.

Gus has not evolved his offense and HE of all people should know he needs a strong and talented oline to run that scheme. Yet he bought in two 4* olinemen in the last two recruiting classes and he still doesn't have an elite RB on that roster.
