Saw this posted by his dad on Twitter but it doesn't say what he is dealing with exactly:

Sounds like he's fairly stressed out and might've overdone things. This was what his new QB coach, Kevin Johns, said the other day...
"I guess that is to be seen if he can block out the noise. If anyone can do it, Kamario can. He is an extremely mature young man. I have been blown away since I had the opportunity to start working with him. In all areas, he is a very, very special guy. I know he will block it out and stay focused on what he needs to do."

Is this a health thing or some emotional breakdown or something? It's all very vague what is going on with him. I sure hope he is ok.

His father is a bit of a loose cannon that posts stuff for attention. He was posting some weird stuff during games last year.
Not a big deal imo. By all accounts Kamario is a good young kid, mature and stays out of trouble. His dad is just a bit out there which isn’t all that rare with athletes.

quote:Reading tea leaves, I'm guessing it's a young kid dealing with a lot of pressure, working super hard and feeling burned out. His dad then unwisely airs all that out on social media, making what shouldn't be a big deal into another stressor.

Parents of college and pro athletes need to get off social media. Nothing good can come from that and you owe it to your kid to avoid posting anything that can reflect poorly on them.
My guess is the kid feels a lot of pressure and reads how many wins they need to save his coach's job and the dad is making a post to try and help people ease up. I understand if that's the reason behind it, but people blow everything out of proportion these days so the dad should just avoid social media.

quote:Agreed. I get the impulse to defend your kid. But, much more productive route is to build them up directly and then let them handle it.

You don’t say this about someone who has their shite together.

Ah, gotcha. Sounds like his dad is similar to "Momma T" Judkins.

This. The dad was upset last year and felt like Kamario should’ve started the whole year as a freshman over Shapen.
