Is in 9 years he never landed a highly recruited quarterback. He literally got lucky with Dak being a 2*. How is he the quarterback spitter by taking shitty recruits and making them serviceable? It's clear to me that he hid Fitz's faults way better than Moorslead, but only MTSU gave Fitz an offer. I think we overestimated how good of a team he really left us with (minus defense) and now we have finally seen the fallout. Wouldn't be surprised if TamponU beats the brakes off us Saturday after the defense quits on the offense.

Well, that would be the way to spin it in a positive way from the MSU perspective.

UF has already signed a highly rated 4* dual-threat QB Emory Jones and have a commitment from another 4* dual-threat QB Jalon Jones. I don't think they'll have to worry about coaching up the diamond in the rough.

I'm not sure I can think of a more demoralizing loss than how Mullen left a strong MSU program that he built to take over a struggling UF one and still beat them.

MSU fans keep wondering why A&M fans haven't talked that much shite this week.

It isn't apathy, its mercy.

They were devastated still are I think. He also did it in a way that left no doubt who the better coach is. His Gameplan to hide our O-Line against there D-Line was masterful. Eventually they will realize how good Dan was there.

They may have the best D-Line in the conference. They returned 4 of 5 starters on an o-line that hung with Bama last year. A 1000 yard back, a 5 star LB they bought from Ole Miss, and 2 experienced QB’s. They have 10 win talent, Moorhead just has no idea how to use it. He’s not playing to Fitz strengths and he’s using the wrong RB. That’s not the fault of Mullen leaving no talent.

Your program is a laughingstock, a historical punchline. What kind of moronic elite QB would choose to spend 3 years in Starkville, MS fighting Ole Miss and Arkansas for "not last" if they had almost any other option?

Mullen is respected as much or more for what he did with Alex Smith and Tim Tebow as OC/QB coach than for anything he did at MSU from a development standpoint.

You all should kiss his arse and thank him for everything he did for y'all from now to eternity.

Alex Smith and Dak Prescott - 2 QBs that Mullen coached - just had an NFL matchup.

Reality set in.

Fitz went from "dark horse Heisman watch" to worst QB in the conference.

That's not by mistake. He doesn't have Mullen's mastery.

Even when he was working with Meyer. He was the football mind. At BG Meyer was considered the motivator, and Mullen the X and O guy. Mullen was the mind behind their version of the spread. He changed the gameplan in 05 before Georgia to adapt the offense to their personnel.

The guy simply understands how to call a game. His recruiting leaves things to be desired, but he damn sure can coach the kids up and put them in spots to win.

Proof is in Frank's. Guy is in no way a great QB. Yet his numbers are World's different this year in comparison to last year. Add in the regression of Fitz. It's clear to see just how good the guy is.

The reason Mullen never got a top prospect QB at State in the same reason he left for UF. State sucks and players don’t want to play for them . He almost got Cam Newton to come to State . Mullen will get much better QB prospects at UF . Sounds like in his first year he already got a better one then he ever got at State .

Why can’t you losers be grateful that he stuck around for 9 years ?
