If Stanford wins the pac 12 at five and any of the top 4 lost Ohio state can't jump while idle and Stanford winning the pac 12 champ game

I think Stanford would bump OU out if they win the Pac 12 and all other 3 top 4 teams win their conference title game.

Given the Committee's stated preference for Conference Champions, they either go with UNC or Stanford. OSU had their chance but didn't even win their division and make the Championship game.

I don't know if they will bump OU. I know Tex is a bad loss but that was at the beginning of the year and Oklahoma looks like one of the four best teams. I was Just referring to the idea of Ohio state remaining idle while Stanford Is beating the pac 12 south champ and allow Ohio state in especially when they are already represented in Iowa/Michigan state. I can't definitively say that Ohio state is better than any of the four teams currently there or Stanford for that matter. I unfortunately think Oklahoma may be the best team in the nation.

The committee cares way less about W/L record than the old polls do.

1 loss teams are ahead of undefeated teams all the time.

They'd have no problem putting a 2 loss Stanford ahead of 1 loss UNC.

Especially considering Stanford's schedule is very good and UNC's is very bad.

Wouldn't explain Iowa's ranking though. There is a Big Ten bias - just like the old days. Love it.

If UNC beats Clemson. Clemson is out and UNC is in.

If Bama losses too then Clemson gets back in

So? Oklahoma lost to a 4 win Texas team and everyone thinks they hung the moon. If UNC wins the ACC they should be in the top 4.
the thing is, Oklahoma has several quality wins to overcome that loss. North Carolina does not.

If UNC beats Clemson the committee will use it as a chance to put in Ohio State.

The NCAA might remember that they're supposed to levy five Level I violations against UNC, including lack of institutional control.

No. You sure you're not an NC State fan?

Stanford would get in. If you don't win your conference, you have to be unequivocally better than a conference champion and OSU is not unequivocally better than Stanford. Stanford also has a better resume than the others.

That's what should happen.

I could see the argument for UNC as a 1 loss conference champ with the hypothetical win over otherwise undefeated Clemson.

However, no complaints from me if Stanford gets rewarded for actually beating more solid opponents and playing a non-conference schedule of Northwestern, UCF and Notre Dame.

I was thinking OSU would go, but given their weak SOS and lack of conf title, I think Stanford would be selected assuming they win the PAC

IMO UNC would be in. These polls change so drastically from week to week, and they'd have the best win of any team in the conversation. I understand the really bad loss, but that was also the very first game. We all know that teams progress throughout the year.

I don't think beating Clemson would ultimately be enough to overcome the albatross that is their SOS and loss to SCar, nor should it. Hopefully, committee would reward a team that had a challenging OOC, thereby further emphasizing and encouraging inter-P5 conference regular season match-ups
