What exactly is a sidewalk fan?

Is it a fan that don't go to the school of the team they pulling for. Or is it just somebody who is pulling for a team because they winning? I can't tell what it means by these threads on here. All I know is posters make it sound bad. Like you don't got the right to pull for a team unless you went to school there or something. If that is what it is you can all kiss my arse. I didn't go to UA but I love my Tide. On a 2nd thought. How long is left to the baseball season. I look forawrd to some intelegent summer time football conversations on here.

it’s some won who was to smart and new that wasting money on a peace of paper was not worth it in the long run. i make more and no more now cause I didn’t go to college than if I do go to college. side walk fans are the best part of a team the students and alumini are the fakers fake news

I got news for you. I ain't the only person that didn't go to school and pulls for the Tide. Theres a lot of us. And thats what makes Bama great.

Sidewalk fan is a fan who doesn't play the sport that they cheer for.
I play golf 50 times a year and validate it by playing several tournaments, therefore I am not a sidewalk fan of the 5 time national champion LSU Tiger golf team.
do you play several organized football games to validate you throwing the football in the yard 50 times a year so that you aren't a sidewalk fan of the 17 time national champion Alabama crimson tide football team.

It’s a fan who isn’t a student or alum.
Nobody is saying you don’t have the right to go to a game and support the team. But your post proves you don’t have the same affinity for the school as an alum would.
Your allegiance is due to sport, an alums is due to much, much more. If a&m sports ceases to exist tomorrow, I would still love and support my university just as much. When you spend years of your life on a campus, it’s very much different than attending a few football games.
