They weren't really relevant when he played. Just a minor stumbling for Bama that one time.

Dude had some of the luckiest plays I've ever seen. That play against Bama where he was about to be sacked after dropping back like 30 yards like a dumbass and just threw it up in the middle of the field into a crowd and somehow Mike Evans came down with it. That play against Duke where he just jumped into a pile of players for no reason and somehow bounced off of it without being tackled, then scrambled for a big gain. Dude made his living on reckless dumb luck plays. Him flaming of out the league was the most predictable thing ever.

Oddly enough he had better numbers in Cleveland than Mayfield through 2 years with less talent.

You can chalk it all up to luck if you want, but the reality is he pulled off those amazing plays multiple times every game, consistently, for two years. At some point you have to admit the guy made his own luck.


Very possibly with the help of copious amounts of nose candy, but hey, that's Johnny.
