The Tech one is the only surprising one. Too bad they didn't ask about A&M.

U of A is definitely arizona.
UM is michigan
UI is illinois, though most people i know call it U of I. IU is indiana.
BU, to me, is boston university. i feel like baylor is just called baylor.

Like most all instances of surveying, the data is always skewed, for instance UT is likely more recognized as being TN than they're noting in GA, FL, NC, VA, etc due to proximity to the fanbase. I could see similar instances with USC and MSU where I would imagine neighboring states recognizing them before their non-sec counterparts.

Why? I mean, it does depend on where you are. But Alabama has the url (UA.edu) and was founded over 40 years before Arkansas and 54 years before Arizona.

no one calls alabama "UA" or "U of A" outside of alabama. it's bama or alabama.
people have been known to call arizona "U of A" on a national level. neither alabama or arkansas is ever called "UA" or "U of A"
eta: just google "U of A" or "U of A football" and you'll get your answer

Indiana is IU, so why are they even a candidate for UI. Notice even they vote Illinois as UI.
