Going to keep it simple for you. The 12th man tradition is the fan base support for our team. Which is excellent. If and when our fan support is not excellent for our football team, then you can attack it if you like. I’m not holding my breath.

The truth about the 12th man. The aggies had a pretty good story in all truthfulness. E King Gill had recently quit the football team to play basketball. He rode to the game in a taxi with coach Bible so he could sit in the press box and identify players as they had no numbers.
The program of the 21 Dixie Classic shows 26 players, 5 got hurt by halftime. Bible called Gill out of the press box, not the stands to suit up. Gill stood on the sidelines with at least NINE other players.
So they had a pretty legitimate story with a happy ending and all, but none of the many reporters in the press box ever wrote a story about the kid standing on the sidelines. Even though Gill had spent the first half working among them. For whatever reason, and as cool as the truthful story was, it just never caught on.
Aggy has never been afraid of an untruthful story, so in 1939 anm hired a writer to write a motivational story about E. King Gill. He added that nonsense about Gill coming outta the stands, and about him being the lone survivor, and standing on the sidelines all by himself.
Even today Aggies will come unglued should anyone question their partly made up story.
That my friends is the rest of the story.

As dumb as that was. The ref actually made a mistake in not standing over the ball when the offense changed personnel. Had he followed the rules that probably doesn’t happen
