Aggie undergrad, tu postgrad here. I liked the tu professors and enjoyed it. The Aggie professors made getting a degree like going through hell.

Any claim of academic superiority in Austin is a myth.

That is an honest assessment.

Only steers and queers come out of Texas.

That saying perfectly fits this discussion: a group of steers and a group of queers!

We live in TX. Both my boys are guaranteed admission to either school and have ALL their education paid for at any state school in Texas they choose to attend.
Both of them only applied to A&M

Most Aggies and horns are from families already oriented one way or another. Most Aggies do not apply to Texas. And most Texas folks don’t apply to A&M.
Both of my parents were 'sips. I grew up as the son of a t.u. football player.

I had my choice of any school in the state, on the school's nickel. I chose A&M.

Nope. Only school I applied to was A&M. And I would have been an automatic admit at either.

I did engineering at A&M and an MBA at Texas. The MBA was like going back to high school compared to the engineering degree, but I won’t pretend that was a function of the schools.
