It was not a damn hurricane, it was a frontal system that stalled producing long-lasting entrained rain. Winds were never over about 20 knots anywhere.
and where did that frontal system come from?

I just don't understand why CNB and Hippocampus decided to burn two perfectly good usernames with all the flaming butt-hurt over this discussion.
This thread (correction: the asinine responses to it) = a shining example of why Northerners poke fun at the South. What a bunch of Billy-Bob-Bubba bullshite.

I really want the game to go on as scheduled in Columbia because I'm making the trip and have never been. I also hope the bars are open so I can party Friday and Satutday night. I just wish Saban would hurry up and decide on whether or not he can get it moved to our bye week so there is no more speculation.

Ok we'll just play LSU in Columbia and then fly out to A&M and play them later in the evening. Dumbass.

Jesus Christ, if you think a mid-latitude frontal system that slowly moved over the entire Southeast for a week and stalled came from a Hurricane 700 miles away, I can't help you.
But I can suggest some study on the subject. My god, I thought most of my fellow Louisianans were semi-educated about such things. Please, I beg you, quit blowing our cover, quit exposing our education system and ruining our reputation for being storm-savvy...

Hurricane Joaquin brings chaotic flooding, record-breaking downpours to South Carolina

This is the region of the United States hit hardest by Hurricane Joaquin, which at one point was forecast to bring similar havoc spanning most of the East Coast, including New York City and the tri-state area. Some eastern states declared flood warning, but saw nothing this weekend on the scale of South Carolina's chaos.

You are a "part-time" LSU fan with a Bama avatar and you are concerned with how OTHER people are making Louisiana folk look?

We were a pretty big arse threat in that 2012 game. We almost won if I remember correctly.

How stupid can you be?
quote:
Heavy rainfall began across much of the East Coast on Thursday. While a good portion of the East Coast has had the heavy rain taper to showers or even drizzle, a band of heavy rain continues to sit over South Carolina and far southeastern North Carolina.
Even though Hurricane Joaquin is tracking away from the United States, the torrential rainfall developed due to a combination of tropical moisture and a non-tropical system.

A hurricane doesn't have to make landfall in order to dump a lot of rain on an area. The effects can be magnified if that area is already inundated from a synoptic weather event.

I chuckled some as I was typing out my Saban joke.
You see, I was satirically poking fun at the fact that LSU fans on this board blame everything bad that happens on Saban/Bama being in bed with the SEC. I saw this as an opportunity to simultaneously troll a Bama tard who made a stupid post. It was funny.

I'm sorry LSU fans when I posted initially today (first time in a few days), I was a little bent out of shape. Been a stressful weekend/week so was on edge. Hope the game is played in Columbia and you all can make the trip. If not Columbia, hopefully they can work at getting the game played in Bank of America stadium.
